    kegerator build...done! Pics inside

I wanted it in the dining room (our dining room is huuuuge) but SWMBO said no. Oh well that just gives me an excuse for: +/- 260 sq/ft room above the garage pre-run HVAC. It was going to be a spare bedroom/office, but since the wife didn't let me put the keezer in the dining room, it now...

    kegerator build...done! Pics inside

Thanks! And the tap I bought when doing a brew tour at DFH. My parents have a weekend house about 10 min from their brewery. :cross:

    kegerator build...done! Pics inside

No, just sanded and cleaned. The lid was rusted (hence why the chalkboard top is a wood frame, rather than painted directly on the lid), so that was painted first. Didn't rub off/scratch/chip easily so I figured I'd take the risk and not worry about priming. I wanted darker, but there was one...

    blow-off tube to siphon beer?

Hey guys, quick question. My blonde ale had a very vigorous fermentation and I needed to quickly prevent a fermenter-bomb so I used my siphon tube as a blowoff tube. Placed it in a glass of star-san. However I want to keg 2 batches tomorrow morning before work, and forgot about it. Can i...

    kegerator build...done! Pics inside

So, my parents had an old chest freezer that they didn't use anymore, and I thought it would make a perfect kegerator. It's almost 15 years old, possibly even older than that. Made my Roper. I was going to take pictures during the build, but once things get going...I kinda forgot. I got...

need help with programming love tss2

Hey guys, I'm just wrapping up my chest freezer to kegerator conversion, and had a few Love temp wiring questions. I bought the TSS2 to possibly use it as a fermentation chiller as well. I figured it would be better to buy it and not need it, then buy say the TS2 and kick my myself for not...

how tight to make faucet and shank connections?

Just a quick question to wrap up my kegerator build. How tight do you make your faucet to shank and shank to tailpiece connections? I'm assuming just hand tighten since they each have gaskets? Also, for the perlick 525's, the handles seem a bit wobbly and loose (both side to side and...

how long to do an AG batch?

Just curious to those doing all grain batches, how long does it take you normally? I searched and couldn't find find anything revelavant (guess "long" and "time" are too generic). I was just curious cause I have 2 AG batches done now, and each took about 4-4.5 hours (batch sparging, using a...

Beers to go grain to glass in 3 weeks?

I have made hefe's before. I never liked the wheat beers, they seemed too toned down. Last one I made was with WLP320. Too bland for me. I'll be making a modified version of yours, Reno, using a traditional hefe yeast (White Labs WLP300), and cracked black pepper. Might omit the orange if...

Beers to go grain to glass in 3 weeks?

Well the freezer is some 15 yo unit I had from before. So just in parts to make it...about 400. But that's with Perlicks, SS shanks, my own Co2 tank (since they fill around here), etc. I could have probably done it for 200 for just the parts if I shopped around used or cheaper equipment. :(...

Beers to go grain to glass in 3 weeks?

Actually Reno, I saw that about 10 seconds after I posted. I was going to use almost your exact recipe, but change a few small things (add some spice perhaps). So a hefe is definitely in. What about my other 2 taps? I would like a more bitter beer for myself, and maybe a simple low grain...

Beers to go grain to glass in 3 weeks?

So here's the deal. I have boarded the bandwagon and am currently converting my chest freezer into a 3-tap kegerator. I have gone faster than planned, and as a result, I want to have my first keg-tapping party for the Pats-Colts game on the 21st (GO COLTS!). I was wondering what beers I...

    Most Extreme Brew Session

Lancaster, eh? Marietta here. The craziest I brewed was on the back porch when we got that 20 or so inches of snow last winter. Didn't want to move the cars out of the garage to brew and possibly have to shovel around them, so I took it out back. :cross::cross: Dumb idea! It is fascinating...

What does honey do in beer?

I used honey taste in my imperial IPA, and for the most part there is no flavor. You might get a slighty different, floral-ish nose, but since honey is almost completely fermentable, you won't get much of any taste. Then again, if you use a lot of honey in proportion with a lower OG, you...

    beer won't bottle carb...

The only problem I see with that is that its an IPA. I'm afraid in 2 months it will be more of a ESB then imperial IPA. Already, after only 2 months, I notice a loss less hop aroma and flavor. I'mm post the recipe once I get the other computer, that has everything on it, working again...
