    Lager fermentation help

    Krausen is gone, there was some in the beginning. And the airlock and plug are both in pretty tight. I have even pushed them down a few times to make sure since they slowly rise(meaning pressure below). I am also using cheap vodka in the airlock, which has worked for me every time before.

    Distilled water opinions

    I have been using distilled water(to top off, tap water for boil) in my brews and was wondering what anyone's opinions were on water to use. Aside from RO water and creating an exact chemical balance, distilled is the only one void of minerals that can alter flavor.

    My recent APA batch came out great with good color, clarity, head, etc. It tastes great but has a 'bite' after you drink. Im trying to figure out what would cause that and have narrowed it down to tap water possibly being too hard, using distilled water to top-off, or fermenting tempature...
