    Idea for switching to electric

A 5500W element would need 10AWG wire and a 30A breaker. There still won't be a proper equipment ground. If the neutral wire feeding the spa box was ever compromised then the current would look for another path to ground.

    Idea for switching to electric

If it's easy enough then just do it right and be done with it.

    Idea for switching to electric

Q1: You really need a separate ground. Current actually flows through the neutral wire, so if it was ever compromised and something provided a path to ground, ie. you, thats where the current would flow. Q2: At 45' you don't need to be concerned with upping the wire size. 10 AWG would be fine...

Can you Brew It recipe for Stone Arrogant Bastard

Maybe not high like barley wine but still high enough to need a little aging to cut down the alcohol bite. By BJCP this is considered 19A, old strong ale, which are usually well aged. Your hop flavor is probably coming through more as the alcohol taste mellows and the carbonation increases...

    Is this overkill?

The R in HERMS stands for recirculation.

    Is this overkill?

You probably won't need a herms coil with that set up unless you want to step mash.

3 batches from AHS Abt 12?

Use one of the spread sheets available to figure out how much base malt to use to get your first runnings where you want them and steep the specialty grains separately for the first batch. Cap the mash with the specialty grains for your second runnings, sparge and steep for 20 min or so. Or if...

Can you Brew It recipe for Stone Arrogant Bastard

Probably needs to age more, like months more. High ABV high AA beers will get much better with age.

Partigyle an ale and a lager?

When I partigyle I mash my base malt and steep the specialty malts for each batch separately. It opens up a lot of possibilities as to what beers you can make. I like the triple/pilsner idea and I might just do that as my next brew. Thanks for the idea.:D

    Bubbling speed in half batch

It should be bubbling at a rate of exactly 1.5 bubbles per second for the first 3 days then it will abruptly and immediately change to 1 bubble per second for the next day, Then again abruptly and immediately change to .80 bubbles per second on days 4 and 5. The curve is not linear. Sorry, I...
