Using an inline filter when kegging

I first used the .2 mm screen. It would clog faster. I switched to the .4 and it is much better. I run it opposite of its suggested direction so I can vent the air out of the round top. I have debated drilling the holes bigger so there is more screen surface area.

Using an inline filter when kegging

I use the brew hardware wort strainer. Works good. Have had some clogging issues where flow slows. Sometimes I would disassemble and clean and be back in business. https://www.brewershardware.com/FILTER1.html?category_id=295 I use it on 10g batches,

    Whirlpooling Clogs Filter

Hopstopper2 is worth every penny. Much better then my homemade version. Not a single clogging issue.

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

To be honest, I think the full volume has help. I was using a Herms and feel I was oversparging and letting the ph go too low.

    No-Boil Recipes! New for 2019!

I bet if you used a cfc or shell and tube exchanger and could get the wort up to 180 or above, it could pasteurize it(I know you probably need more time, etc) I have both and a herms system. Maybe I need to try to see how high I can raise the temp and how long it will stay above 180 after it...

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

I do full volume mash overnight, I lose 10 degrees in 12 hrs. I wrap my ss mash tun we three wraps of reflectix, the cover, wrap with four comforters. This is in a 63 deg basement. My beer has only improved since doing this

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

I do the same, but love the stopper design. My version for my keggle has a 5/8 hole and grommet. Bet Kal and the stopper team can make a conical one. Anyone remember kals hbt name so we can tag him?

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

I use the hopstopper2 in my bk and love it, used a hop taco for years and the 2.0 kills it. Definitely buying the keg version. Wonder if I can install it in my conical pickup tube

Just looking for 2 vessel brewers

No, oversparging. Herms fly sparge can allow the ph to drop to low in the mash and you extract tannins.

Just looking for 2 vessel brewers

Yes, bk is a keggle, mash tun was a 20 gallon pot. Filled to rim was full volumn mash for 10g batch. Just got a 25 gallon concord and soldered in the fittings, will make for more wiggle room. Since my bk is only 15 gallons, I have to heat mash water up in two batches. Might upgrade to a...

Just looking for 2 vessel brewers

No bag, I have a nice false bottom. Beer taste great, kegging an hazy ipa tonight, similar to a recipe I did in my herms. Looking forward. I think there is less bite, I believe I was over extracting with my herms.

Just looking for 2 vessel brewers

I just moved from doing a 3 vessel Herms for 8years to a full volume mash, 2 vessel. Really like it. Been doing overnight mashed too. I heat my strike water up in my bk, 10 gallons at a time. I add my grain to mt, then fill with the first 10 gallons from the bk. I fill from the bottom on the...

Mash night before, boil in morning

Just did a no sparge overnight mash. Used lots of old comforters and wrapped the mash tuned, only lost 15degs in 12 hrs. My new favorite way. Made the morning a breeze
