    Green Flash Green Bullet Clone

Hey Guys, I'm looking for a clone of the Green Flash Green Bullet Triple IPA. It's hands down my brother's favorite IPA and I'm looking to make 15 gallons for his wedding. I did some searching but couldn't really find much specific to this beer.

    Cutting oil?

I am using a step drill bit to drill out a 7/8" hole in my keg. What do people here use for cutting oil? Obviously it needs to be something that doesn't leave a film. Sent from my XT1060 using Home Brew mobile app

    JayBird's RIMS Tube

I do have access to one. Are you suggesting slow and steady pressure at the bend? Sent from my XT1060 using Home Brew mobile app

    JayBird's RIMS Tube

Thanks acidrain, I had done the calculations on amperage, but thanks for the reinforcement. As for the bending the element, I thought that might be the way to go but wasn't sure if there was a trick to it. Any suggestions? Sent from my XT1060 using Home Brew mobile app

    JayBird's RIMS Tube

Hey Guys, I recently purchased a RIMs tube as well as a keggle false bottom from norcallbrewingsolluctions.com (run by JayBird) and am just getting the pieces together to tie it all together. I got my heating element today, and the fit is tight. I got a 4500 watt 240V element that I was...

    My new RIMS control panel

Sorry to revive a post from the dead, but I've got the tube and most of the components either in my Amazon shopping cart or at a local HD/Lowe's store but have been stuck on the right box. What boxes are people using? I have a 10"x10"x6" box in my Amazon cart, but it's metal, I'm looking for...

    Jaybird's Stainless False Bottoms

I'll add to the pile of compliments for Jaybird and his crew. The quality of my RIMS tube and 15" FB is fantastic. I've seen many that were not nearly as nice as these. Very well done. Beyond that, I noticed I had a part missing on the order, which happens, I wasn't too worried about it...

    Jaybird's Stainless False Bottoms

Just ordered mine, can't wait for it to get here. The forum has nothing but good things to say about these FB's. It would be interesting if someone had a comparison between this and the coveted Blichmann False Bottom. I had previously been looking for the Blichmann style FB when I stumbled...

    Jaybird's Stainless False Bottoms

Does anyone know the volume of wort below the 15" FB? I'm just trying to make calculations of how much grain I can mash with this puppy before I make the plunge. :)

To conical, or not to conical, that is the question...

Hey everyone, I am at a crossroads with my desire to purchase a new shiny conical. I mostly do 5 or 10 gallon batches but this summer I will be making 3 different 15 gallon batches for a wedding. The wedding has put me on the fast track to purchase one in the 20ish gallon range, but that's...

    What pump to use?

I too have been eyeballing the CIP solutions for a Brewhemoth. I don't have one yet, but I'll be getting one this spring in preparation of a wedding I'll be brewing about 45-45 gallons of beer for. I really want to get the CIP solution figured out (at least conceptually) before I get the...

To add water, or not to add water...

That is the question.... I brewed 10 gallons of bourbon barrel porter and it came out to only about 7.5 gallons in the fermenter. I intended to add water to make the difference since I knew the wort was heavily concentrated to begin with. Fermentation has been going for 48 hours now so the...

PID and Timer from same company

Hello all, I have been looking into building a control panel similar to the one used in "The Electric Brewery" detailed here: http://www.theelectricbrewery.com/control-panel-part-1 I won't be using electric, but rather a rims tube for my HLT and MLT, but the design will be similar...

    Rims pid

Thanks again, I think for me, the non programmable option makes more sense. As long as I can bump the temp from say 154 to 168 on the fly, that's all I am looking to do. I don't mind having a timer for the rest times. Very helpful info. Thanks again.

sennister, another question. With the SYL-2352, is a separate SSR still necessary? I see it says "SSR Output" in the description, so I wasn't sure. Thanks, Mark

    Rims pid

Thanks sennister, that's awesome. I'm entirely new to all of this, so I wasn't sure what the difference was between the 2352 and the 4352. The 2352 sounds like the way to go for step mashing. I don't currently do a step mash since my mashtun is a cooler I need to do an infusion mash if I want...

    Rims pid

Hey Guys, I'm looking into building a RIMS this winter, as it gets pretty cold here in Maine, and I tend to have a hard time holding my temps when I brew, even now in the fall it's tough. Anyway, I've been digging around and it seems like most people use the Auber SYL-4352 PID, but I can't...

    M6 Oxygen Tank

Hey all, I've been looking into oxygen tanks and found a few M6 tanks on eBay for $30 or less including shipping. I'm just curious, does anyone know how long an M6 tank will last? It's the smallest tank they sell from what I can tell. I've obviously never used oxygen in my beer before, so...

    Bottling after long conditioning

You hit my concern. I'm afraid of drying it out too much by adding more yeast, but not carbing at all if I don't. My yeast of choice is capable of going up to 12%, so I'm thinking of just bottling as normal since the yeast should still be healthy. Please, if anyone has any info to offer...
