I have a Munton's Pilsner hopped extract kit and .5 oz of simcoe hop pellets lying around. Does anyone have any ideas if I could or how I could use those hops with that kit? I was thinking maybe boiling the hops in say...3 gal of water for 20-30min and adding that to the kit.

I'm looking into getting a grain mill for steeping grains, still doing extract batches. I see a lot people talk about the corona mill but I have found a Prago grain mill I can get a few bucks cheaper. Does anyone know much about these or have any comments on quality?

Sounds like your wort was warmer than your basement. When the air in the carboy cooled it shrunk creating a small vacuum in your airlock. Once fermentation gets going it will push back out. No need to worry.

I've made a nut brown ale kit from munton's that I really like but would like to change it up a bit. I've heard talk of adding spices but I'm very inexperienced in what or how much to add. Does anyone have suggestions on what might go well with it? The kit makes 6 gal.

I've usedlots of corona bottles and some have leaked with crooked caps and some have not. Depending on the import company they have different necks. The ones that are imported by Barton Beers I have had no porblem with and I use a wing style hand capper. I'm not sure about the other importers...
