    Rocket stove

:) good luck, I made one a few years ago out of a bucket, chimney metal and vermiculite. It worked out but no way as good as a commercial made product!

    Rocket stove

I have one of these: http://www.silverfire.us/page_10_15/silverfire-survivor-rocket-stove never thought about using it to boil wort, however if SHTF it would be my go to heat source for making the shine!!

    My Weldless Build Using Strut

How uneven is your driveway? I had to use self leveling feet when I brewed with a 3 tier system however now that I am single tier with casters it's easy to adjust (roll around) the stand so that it is level.

    Tips for new Nitro Setup...

LOL Good call on keeping the beer lines at the current length for my other taps. It is exclusively a stout tap since its a actual Guinness tap. Also I am %100 sure it's not Nitrous Oxide as I used to be very familiar with that in my race cars, that is N2O. It however might be N2+Co2 and on...

    Tips for new Nitro Setup...

Any tips for setting up a new nitro tap? I have a genuine Guinness Tap (brand new), a shiny new No2 regulator and a full 20cuft tank with beer gas mix I think that's %25 No2 and %75 Co2? I know when I set up my Co2 I had to adjust the line length etc.. Anything like that for No2? I also read...

    Solid strut single tier build

I would have to agree with this, especially if you are using keggles. I cut my strut to pretty much the exact same dimensions as lpdjshaw and even gave him credit in my thread. But I thought it was a little to high. Then my wife wondered out into the garage when I was mocking up the stand (after...

    My Weldless Build Using Strut

I used the solid for one main reason and that was less places I had to clean. With solid strut I can just wipe it down with a cloth and my thought was less places bacteria to thrive. Not that I am a dirty brewer or anything but I have been known to spill my share of sweet wort and that stuff get...

    My Single Tier Strut Brewstand

Thanks! Yes I have both a needle and the ball valve. My thoughts going into the project were that I could use the needle valve to fine tune my flame and the ball valve would be for easy "fast" shutoff if I started to overshoot my temps. I originally wanted to only used the ball valve but I had...

    My Single Tier Strut Brewstand

These are what I used to secure them to my stand: https://strutchannelfittings.3dcartstores.com/THK-147-ANGLE-BKT--3-HOLES_p_34.html I obviously flipped them so that the angle went over and around the bottom of the strut, leaving the single hole dead center. I was able to put the casters stud...

    DIY Oxygenator for Sankey Transfer

I might be able to take the one from Morebeer and adapt it to work for me. below is a reversion of what I am looking to do which is make a device that I can insert into my fermentor (keg) and fill it while adding the O2.

    DIY Oxygenator for Sankey Transfer

So I ferment in 1/4BBL Sankeys. I love them and currently to oxygenate my wort I transfer cap then shake the keg (as much as I can) to get some air into it. I was at the big box hardware store the other day and kinda came up with this idea. If I was to take some 1/2" ID Copper pipe and attach...

Gunk at the top of carboy

This is one of the reasons I moved to a Stainless Fermentor. I think I have thrown out multiple batches of good beer that just looked wrong to me (I am sure it was good)... Now I can't see it, use Co2 to push the beer into my corny and life it good! I bet sometimes even now it looks like that or...

    How do my burners look?

Two BG-12's, they seem to be a little orange but on a test run left only very little soot and I am thinking that was from messing around with the air flow. They did take tap water from about 75 degrees to 179 in about 20 mins.

    Moisture in hoses after brewing....

Some great suggestions, I am set up to recirc through all my vessels but only one at a time.

    Moisture in hoses after brewing....

My pump is bolted in place, I don't mind disconnecting the hoses etc to let them dry but at the same time I don't want a spider or anything of the sorts crawling up into my pump housing making a home. Like I said my brew stand lives in my garage.

    Moisture in hoses after brewing....

So I have just built a single tier brew stand and did a dry "wet" run last night. Everything went well just one leak that was easily resolved. Anyhow this morning I go back to my garage to work on her some more and I noticed moisture was still in the hoses, obviously this was because I did...

    cold crashing necessary?

Main reason I do it is because I keg and force carb. The beer takes the co2 better when cold so I just crash then carb.
