How many of your kids can brew beer?

My 17 son could brew and doesn't dislike the taste of beer so he takes interest in what went in to a batch and the taste it produces, he has said that a possible employment interest is brew master. Since he was about 13 we have taken an approach much like my parents we don't let him "drink" but...

    Us-05 vs ?

So let me ask this does the yeast make a big difference in the taste of the beer if every thing else is the same? I was sitting here thinking if the US05 is a good yeast for this beer then maybe I should go in a different direction and do a series of batches with different hops. Scientific...

    Us-05 vs ?

The original recipe turns out a nice pale ale similar to a Geary's Pale Ale, I did a variation of this beer recently where instead of 5 gal of water I had 5 gal of Maple Sap straight from the trees in Maine frozen then transported back from my snowboarding vacation sap itself is not sweet and it...

    Carbonation??

I learned this the hard way......minimum 3 weeks for bottle conditioning and carbonation. I was told "patience grasshopper" by my buddy who has been brewing for a long time and it has proven true on every batch so I don't touch them for 3 weeks. Dark place and don't disturb the bottles.
