equipment upgrades you wish you had from the start

Of if like me, you don't have room/ hook up for a sink, get one of these: https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/tuff-stuff-products-tuff-round-tub-25-gal I just run my first chiller water into it- nice and hot/ warm and add some PBW. As the wort is chilling, I am cleaning EBIAB basket...

learning lesson from older brew guy

Wort was chilled overnight from brew day to 40 deg. in chest freezer. Took out next day, pitched yeast. This is in my basement so room temp is 62-68 most of the time. 1st day after pitch, everything was bubbling nice and behaving itself. Next day I checked it at 6 and it had bubbled out the...

    Cereal Killer setting for BIAB?

Yeah, you will need to do a few to find what fits your system. I have a 10 gallon EBIAB that has a SS basket that only has mesh on the bottom. I have to grind kind of course for it or the wort just will not flow good. My 20 gallon pot has a basket with holes all around it( was made for crab/...

equipment upgrades you wish you had from the start

So for me, I had some items to get started with BIAB- 20 gal pot with basket and propane burner. I was able to buy a 10 gallon EBIAB used and have gotten a 20 gallon SS pot to go with it. The 10 is fine for less that 11 lbs grain but the basket will over flow after that. I use the same basket...

    wilserbrewer BIAB bags

So with no dog in this hunt ( I make my own bags), what could happen ( has happen to me) is seam is near the edge of mesh. Not enough of the material got seamed over and it is pulling the fibers apart. I had this happen on the first bag I did. So after that, I double lap the seam. Takes more...

    Gnats

In NC we get two kinds- little SOB's and big SOB's. The big ones are pain when outside. The little one's are the one's I get in the house/ brew room. I hang a fly strip and spray the day before I brew.
