    Using Cinnamon Tincture

Dose it in the glass then do some math to scale it up to keg volume. I found 2 mL/pint glass about right but YMMV

    versatile multi-purpose yeast strain?

I've gotten fairly comfortable using several different yeast strains but I'm thinking of consolidating towards a smaller stable of strains. Was wondering if anyone has found a strain that is particularly versatile, in that it can produce vastly different (but still delicious) beers by varying...

    dry yeast pitch rate

manufacturer knows their product best https://fermentis.com/en/product/saflager-w-34-70/ Fermentis says 80-120 grams per hectoliter 17 gallons of wort = 0.64 hl pitch size should be 51g on the low end (4 packets), up to 77g (6 packets) on the high end This is why I bought a 500g brick of...

"skinny" inline screen filter that will fit in the neck of a PET soda bottle?

I'm planning to set up a simple dry-hops-infuser, like a Randall-izer but without the whole water filter/housing. I'll use either a 2L soda bottle, or these 2.5L bottles if I can find a USA distro source: https://www.kegland.com.au/kegland-amber-pet-bottles-2-5l-pack-of-9-with-screw-caps.html...

that's interesting to hear 34/70 has the reputation as the warm-fermentation champ, but maybe I should broaden my horizons to include California Lager yeast

alternative dry yeast brands - CellarScience, APEX Cultures, Mauribrew

thanks for the link on the 10+ pack deal. If I can confirm APEX/Mauribrew are 34/70, the cost will be closer to $1.50 per 11g packet so significant savings

How do I store my extra dry yeast?

yeah straight from Fermentis FAQ: Q&A I don't know how they can post such nonsense with a straight face

How do I store my extra dry yeast?

usually I would recommend to read the manufacturer's website, but this is clearly not true that it can only be opened once, and should be discarded after one week! "For the 500g sachets, we don’t recommend to re-use open sachet. However, for a sachet where the air has been flushed and firmly...

    kveik substitutes for traditional styles?

so far, so good I still do use 34/70 for traditional lagers, and planning on Munich Classic for a Hefeweizen, but kveik covers a lot of other bases Kveik embodies my vision of homebrewing - rather than scaling down the high-tech process control of commercial breweries with digital temperature...

    kveik substitutes for traditional styles?

had some really good results with an Anchor Steam / Cal Common using Lutra cloned a Boulevard Tank 7 Saison with Jovaru and it's crisp, refreshing and citrusy. Very high attenuation on that one Next up will probably be a Kolsch with Lutra Currently fermenting in my garage is a Dale's Pale Ale...

    Rate my sketchy fermentation rig

applaud the ingenuity, but looks like a fire hazard do you have a seedling heat mat, or electric heating pad for sore muscles? Those work really well if you bungee-wrap the pad around the fermenter

How much wine tannin for store bought juice?

I believe it was labelled as "chestnut tannin". I've never seen anything to indicate the different sources have different strength here's a good article on making adjustments: https://www.homecidermaking.com/how-to-add-tannins-to-cider/

inline dosing minerals to sparkling water keg?

posting this in the Kegging forum as I'm sure it will require some custom fittings etc. I have one of my 5 taps in my kegerator dedicated to sparkling mineral water I have a mineral blend that I like, that I mix up in 5 gallon batches. The whole family enjoys which is great; the only problem...
