Ordinary Bitter Miraculix Easy AK (light bitter)

Inspired by this thread, I made my variation. I used 10# MO, 1# flaked maize, and 1# of homemade invert syrup. Used Verdant and fermentation is nicely underway. Yeah, my OG was on the high side but that's how I roll! I did burn my syrup the first time around but the second time was a charm...

    Pressure fermentation- lower temp

Yup. Basically, I like getting free CO2.

How Many Gallons Brewed In 2021

I haven't contributed to the data this year. To date, I've brewed 120 gallons. So 6,665?

I just cleaned it with oxyclean.

    Using corny for primary?

Yes, I do 5 gallon batches. No issues at all.

    Using corny for primary?

It's very easy to clean as it's not very deep.

    Using corny for primary?

He actually sent me one to try out. I loved it and bought another. I had been out of brewing for 7-8 years and just got back about 1.5 years ago. I had never heard of pressurized fermentations until Trong mentioned it to me. He sent me the SPUNDit and my brewing world changed!

    Using corny for primary?

I got one last year for Christmas. I love it for pressurized fermentations!

    Using corny for primary?

Trong, the inventor of the FLOTit, sent me the new FLOTit 2.0 to try out. Much bigger, double filter. Seems to work well. Trong stands behind his products and will directly offer advice. He actually called me when I had a question about his SPUNDit. Btw, I love the SPUNDit.

    Using corny for primary?

I use one of those cask widge floats in my 10 gallon Torpedo keg for some of my fermentations. The Torpedo and widge float are a nice combo.

    Glass or PET Carboy

I replaced my glass carboys with Speidel fermenters about 1.5 years ago. Great decision.

    Saflager 34/70

Sounds like he doesn't oxygenate. I recently stopped and don't notice anything different. I should try Diamond.

    Omega Lutra yeast?

My Baltic Porter went from 1.092 to 1.016 in 3 days with the dry Lutra. Going to keg it this weekend.

    First lager beer

Sure it's a lager. You're using lager yeast. I always just carbonate my lagers by pressure fermentation, but I don't see why you couldn't just add the appropriate amount of corn sugar and carbonate it like any other beer you've made.

Flour beetles during mash -- Continue or discard?

I just hope you don't recreate that scene from Alien after drinking a pint!

    Importance of water?

Even though I've been brewing for about 15 years, I just recently starting using Bru'n Water. Definitely makes a major difference. A Ward report would be mostly worthless to me as my local water reports fluctuate monthly (they actually have a "Homebrewing" chart on my local water website)...
