    Extremely Volatile & Foamy Omega Gulo Starter (w/ photo). Any worries?

    Don't think there's anything to worry about. I'm using some Gulo slurry from a batch I brewed a couple of months ago. That batch was insane. Iirc, gravity dropped about 50 points in less than48 hours. Today's brew is a Biere de Garde.

    Voss Kveik how pronounced is the orange flavour ?

    At this moment, I'm drinking a beer I made from Voss last week. Orange is not very strong but I hit it hard with Rakau and Sabro hops (about 12 ounces). Tastes great but the heavy dose of hops is probably overpowering the taste from yeast. Fermented between 95-97.

    Not looking good so far. When using Kveik it's usually roaring away by now. I pitched about 16 hours ago and there's no sign of fermentation.

    Pressurized Fermentation- Fermentation Rate Slowing

    I'm new at pressurized fermentation for lagers. I've done 4 in the last couple of months with success. I have kicked up the psi to 25 from the start. I also have the temp in the low 70's.     I picked up some packs from an eBay seller. Until now, I've only used a few different liquid strains and the dry Lalbrew kveiks. Anybody used these? I might give one of them a try tomorrow.

    Motueka hop pellet smell ...are these stale?

    Get a metal bottle of Bud, Miller, etc. Unscrew cap, add a few grams of hops nd put it in the fridge for a few days. Strain the hops out while pouring into a glass. You should get a decent idea about the hops.

    Diamond Lager Yeast

    I might try Diamond but my results so far with a single pack of 34/70 under pressure have been excellent so far. Been brewing many years but recently started doing lagers since discovering pressurized fermentation.
