    Physics Question

I was gonna respond with "PV=nRT *******!" but mostly I just want to have my avatar in a thread by an ignorant Sox fan :ban:

I see their cans at stores around, haven't gotten any yet....will have to try it next time I make it to my local liquor store (tonight probably).

Haven't been to Park City, Utah in about 3 years....

AFAIK, that membership fee seems to be going out. I skied in Utah last year (stayed in SLC and took a bus up little/big cottonwood canyons to ski) and bought beers at the mountain, at restaurants, and at a brew pub called Hoppers (including growlers) which was about 50 yds from my hotel (on...

Question about using the Holiday 5.3cu as a keezer

Nothing in the lid other than insulation. The major problem, is that the lid is not super sturdy, so you are going to need to reinforce the inside somehow to give the tower some strength up there. Also, if the freezer is against a wall, the tower will hit the wall when you open the freezer to...

Question about using the Holiday 5.3cu as a keezer

How much shipped to 80304? Seriously...along with a list of parts for the drip tray and faucets...:rockin: I'll take mine in Black. My building skills suck...well, I can tile, frame and drywall well enough, but I am lazy too...:D Is the only attachment between the collar and freezer...

American Pale Ale Cascades / Orange Pale Ale

I just kicked the 5g keg of the citrus pale ale I do as mentioned earlier in the thread, but I used the seasonal 'Farmhouse' strain that wyeast released this summer. It went real quick (damn roommates :-)), the orange with the spiciness from the yeast and classic belgian ester profile was...

    My very first milling!

I love the smell of mashing grain, the company I work for is about 50 yards from Boulder Brewing Co. I love when I am at work and the smell of mashing grains starts wafting into my building, followed a bit later by boiling wort and hops!

How do you add coconut flavor to brew?

I did a coconut cream stout (based on http://www.aircrafter.org/boggs/homebrew/recipes/2006.10.29-Coconut_Cream_Stout.xml) and it came out great. I taste the coconut, but most people when drinking it cannot place the flavor until I tell them what it is, then they are all have a 'duh' moment...

    Dextrose Corn Sugar - GMO

FYI, organic does not mean GMO-free, in this case, yes, but not for all products. The 'organic' designation just means that no synthetic chemicals were used in farming.

    Dextrose Corn Sugar - GMO

Thanks for saving me the time of typing that...As a molecular biologist, people's ignorance on this topic really frightens me sometimes, almost like letting politicians make decisions on science policy :( What exactly will irradiating your GMO foods do for you  As an aside, I've...

    Forgot the 5.2 water stabilizer

I never add stabilizer, and the few times I have checked the pH of my mash, it was spot on. I wouldn't worry, unless you have jacked up water, see what the FG is, if you get expected attenuation, I wouldn't worry, and you can save some coin as well.

And...not gonna be brewing for a while

Yeah, got a whole lot of percocet, only really needed it for the first two days after those screws. It doesn't hurt all that much now, Vitamin I (Ibuprofen) does the trick for now, but I take the percs every once in a while...more frequently now that my family is in town :D I should be ok...

And...not gonna be brewing for a while

I really appreciate the offers of help guys. I do have a backlog of about 50 gallons in my basement, and will get my roommates to help with racking/kegging, so I should have plenty of beer to get me through the winter.

    Strangest Looking Animals

Ate one of those this past summer, freakin' delicious. They used to be super cheap eats, but went out of favor as a 'cheap' (read: not good) fish since they are basically 'mistake' catches. Has the consistency of lobster but much easier to eat, delicious with brown butter, lemon, white wine...
