Will added hazelnut extract mellow over a month?

I made a hazelnut brown last year and did the same as you. I only put in about half of what the bottle recommended. The hazelnut flavor was extremely overpowering. I hate to tell ya this. I let mine mellow in the keg for about 8 months and the hazelnut flavor never mellowed. Fortunately for...

    Brew stand/cart material

I used one of these under my kettle. It protects my wood brew table top. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Unbranded-Edge-Glued-Round-Common-1-in-x-17-3-4-in-Actual-1-0-in-x-17-75-in-680435/202017011

    Keg not carbing

My gauge never shows completely empty. With my tank in the fridge the gauge is pretty useless. I never get a true reading on how much is left in the tank. Make sure you have co2.

Rubber handles coming unglued from corney keg

I just fixed two of my kegs. I used an automobile exterior trim adhesive. Its water resistant and holds up to hot and cold temps. I picked it up at auto zone. A tube fixed two tops and one bottom.

    Hello from STL

Welcome. Im also from the STL area. Ofallon MO actually. I normally go to j2 brewing for my grain purchases. STL Beer & wine has a pretty good selection but definitely a bit pricey. Brewers Tru value in St. Peters has an increasingly growing selection. Most of my hardware was purcheased online...

    Refinishing Corny Kegs

I used Bar Keepers Friend and a green scotch brite pad on my kegs. Cleaned them up very well. It gave the kegs a dull matte finish, almost brushed looking. I attached the scotch brite pad to my palm sander and went to town.
