    Allo from Maryland!

Sadly that's not it. When I open it up I get a glass of 80% foam.

    Allo from Maryland!

Thank you! I sadly already bought a tap that does not have flow control, but clearly regretting that now ;P My current solution is simply open the tap only a small amount. Next brew I will try to put a piece of airline hose in my floating downtube to make the inner diameter smaller. Probably...

    Induction vs all in one

As newbie myself I'll throw in that in researching this stuff a very popular sentiment is that the cold side is way more important than the hot side. I am mostly investing in the cold side and just doing my boils on the stove. Next brew is a BIAB and will do a dunk sparge in a smaller pot, both...

Easiest way to make a homemade syphon?

Can you just use a brand new aquarium siphon and clean it really well? They are just made of plastic with vinyl tubing. They are widely available at pet stores including big chain pet stores.

    Allo from Maryland!

Thanky! I have been to Maryland HomeBrew probably half a dozen times already ;P basically every time I realize I forgot something or really should be using a different piece of equipment. When I told them I was brewing in a bag they told me they would double mill the grains themselves. Hopefully...

    Show Us Your Label

I wanted to add my label to the pile. I just ordered it as static window clings so I can take it on and off of bottles/kegs as needed. The blank spots are for me to handwrite in whatever beer and abv it is. Originally I had a different design but the wife said it was too busy: Edit: Just...

    Allo from Maryland!

Hey folks! I have been really enjoying these forums for the past couple of weeks and thought I should introduce myself. I am a newbie to the world of brewing but I like to cook and I am finding a lot of similarities. So far I made one English brown ale with extract and one american brown ale...

    Newbie with questions about spunding

Awesome! This is very encouraging. What type of beer and what pressure did you set your valve to?

    Newbie with questions about spunding

Thank you! This is a lot of good information. I was planning to serve directly from the mini keg. Basically the advantage being that 1) I don't want big batches anyway, and 2) the mini kegs are small enough I can put them in my basement fridge and still use that fridge as I am now (as storage...

    Newbie with questions about spunding

Hello folks! I am very new to brewing (getting ready to taste my first beer tonight - an english brown ale from an extract kit). I've spent the last month researching better methods for making beer and I've settled on going with a BIAB all grain for my next beer. My wife bought me a ukeg for my...
