Unless you score a rare variety rhizome for free, there is no reason to even consider rhizomes. The GLH crowns are massive, and the roots on the cascades crown I got were the size of my thumb.

Good to know. About all 5 of my six plants have now lost the original growth but they are starting to push new bines......We have not had the temperature drop under 40, which is unheard of in MN this time of year, but still probably too low for plants taken out of greenhouse....not to mention...

we have not had freeze, but after planting them last Thursday, 2 of my six plants look rather dead.....lost all their leaves and the bines have dried out......I hope they will make it...... I did follow the directions that came with the plants.....I guess these are grown in a greenhouse...

got my six plants this week, one of the cascades had a massive root ball, worth at least several rhizomes alone. They are now planted and coping with the change.
