NB Surly Furious Clone not turning out so well

I'm having this same issue now. Did it ever mellow out? I dry hopped in muslin bags to avoid massive beer loss, kegged it and it has the same flavor you describe. I guess I'll just let it sit and see if it will mellow out

New yeast!!! Pretty damn excited for this!

I ended up using this yeast for my pumpkin porter which turned out amazingly! I then used another one on my session smash, which in turn used that yeast cake for my barleywine. The session ale was wonderful! The hops (Simcoe) came through very well, and very clean. I'm not sure what the...

Burton Ale yeast, vigorous and warm fermentation, what to expect?

I just brewed my yearly "Festivus Ale" last night using Burton Ale...it's been 14 hours since I pitched my starter and it's taking forever to get going. A couple bubbles here and there, and barely any krausen. Seems weird considering the 1.082 og. (much higher than I anticipated, by the way)...

New yeast!!! Pretty damn excited for this!

Transfered my pumpkin porter to the keg and tasted. Went from 1.072 to 1.018, boom! I guess we'll see how it tastes soon. Also racked my pale ale to secondary and dry hopped, didn't taste that one. Kegging it in 5 days... I brewed a barley wine last night and poured it on top of the yeast...

New yeast!!! Pretty damn excited for this!

I've been crazy busy at work and haven't had a chance to brew with this yeast until last night. Made my pumpkin porter, and it seems to be bubbling along just fine (pitched it about 9 hours ago). The starter I made blew the top off of my flask! Never had that happen before. Making another...

What I did for beer today

Got my first keggin system last weekend from Midwest, then the next day they offered a deal, if I spend more than $150, get a free 6 gallon glass carboy. Arrrrrrgggggg. I called them and they honored it. I figured they would...good people there. Carboy arrived today with a better bottle...

New yeast!!! Pretty damn excited for this!

I'll pass along the word, however, I talked to Barry a few weeks ago and he said that a website is in the works. They're only selling locally right now, but if I were them, I'd want to have a few more strains and make sure they all perform the way they should before I dump money into a website...

    First Hopbursting Recipie Advice

Yeah, I just did a honey-basil double pale and used a pound of honey malt, which was 9.7%. A lot of people say they love my beer, but I think it's way too sweet. I'll make it again, but cut it to 1/2 pound. Your hop bursting schedule looks good

    HBC 342 hops

Brau Brothers uses 342 in their Hopsession...I once read "watermelon" as a flavor description. Hopsession is delicious, although I still haven't used 342 in any of my beers, it's on the list of hops to use in my annual; and ever changing, summer pale ale.
