I'm willing to wager some cash and bet they put the wrong valves on the wrong posts. The gas and liquid side valve posts have slight variances to keep you from putting the wrong line on the wrong side. Or they could be some off-brand junk that weren't made to spec.

Are those still being made? I had seen a really cool one in a thread on here a while back.. would be nice to get rid of the plastic

Not to steal this thread, but I'm curious about how you guys are splitting these and building two starters off one pack. How do you know when each is ready to pitch? Are you just going through the builds a certain number of times, or looking for a specific amount in the mason jars after to know...

Oddly enough, the only one I've had break was a 3 piece. After that snapped on the second use, I tossed the rest and pulled out the old S-types I have and haven't gone back.

I have the 10.5 Anvil kettle with a Brew Bag that fits the basket and have used that about 5-6 times now. It works well and shows no sign of wear. I had just set that perforated disk on top of the basket as to not cut a hole in it. The bag sucks to clean with grain getting stuck in the webbing...

I've been toying with the idea of going this route for my keezer as well. Cost is the big issue with a 4-way set of Taprite secondaries being close to 200 dang dollars! Another thing I like is the thought of hard pluming the inside of my keezer as well and getting all these tubes out of dangle...

This recipe sounds really good. I haven't seen this beer available in my area so I haven't had it before. I have a question though about the corn sugar added to the boil. Obviously this bumps up the ABV, but would taste suffer at all skipping it?
