i use a keg and false gottom. for ten gallon batches i strike at 165 and always get a mash of 156-157. The kegs seem to keep the heat in pretty good

i just might have to on the next brew. i will just put 3 1/2 gal in a 5 gal carboy and the rest in my conical to give it a test run .. i will update

i have a huge stir plate that my carboys will fit on and i was wondering if anyone has ever put their primary on a stir plate. It makes a starter ferment quicker, would this be beneficial for the fermentation?
