    What are you drinking now?

Bubbles. This glass used to have a really fancy Ommegang logo on it. Too many rounds in the dishwasher over the years.

Has anyone dry hopped at yeast pitch?

Certainly. There definitely still seems to be a good amount of room for personal preferences. I think this is also another one of those situations where drawing a distinction between what the pros do and what should/can be done on the homebrew scale is warranted. We are lucky as homebrewers in...

Has anyone dry hopped at yeast pitch?

This 👆. I too think that when brewers starting dry hopping beers at 4 or 5+ pounds per barrel it really changed what would come to be considered "best practices" around dry hopping. When 1 or 2 pounds per barrel was the norm, or even the high end of normal, many of the things that brewers worry...

    What are you drinking now?

They’re about 2 hours drive from me. I’m lucky to get what they distribute, but I really wanna go there and try things at the source. I just need another reason to make the trek besides the brewery to get the wife to agree to a little road trip.

Batter up! Not much to say. One of my all time favorites. I will continue to beat the drum for Belgian Tripel until the day I die.

    What are you drinking now?

Historically the first “hazy” I ever really liked. Albeit I think their definition basically means unfiltered. This one goes down the easiest so far. People used to talk about good Mosaic having a blueberry quality to it. I think I’m getting that here. Could all be in my head though. Back to...

    What are you drinking now?

Next one up (didn’t finish the last one). The bitterness here is much more clean and refined than the lost abbey beer before this. Yet, it’s also much more boozy and hot on the back end, even though it’s 0.3% lower ABV. Does anyone know by chance if Elysian uses the same yeast as Stone perhaps...

    What are you drinking now?

A little rough around the edges. But weirdly enjoyable in a nostalgic sort of way. Reminds me of the days when breweries were still figuring ipa out. Firm old school bitterness. Hoppy in a green sort of way, like the way pellets smell right out of the bag. No date stamped on the can so I have no...

Fermzilla Conical Dry Hop From Collection Jar?

I'm curious as to whether anyone using the Fermzilla Tri-Conical Gen 3.2 has any experience using the collection jar for dry hopping and/or other additions. I've been looking into the hop bong, but it's as expensive as the fermenter itself. Plus from what I've heard getting the cooling coil and...

I brewed an experimental recipe a few weeks ago...

Do you mind expanding on this a bit? I’ve heard discussion of the sodium issue with Briess DME. I’m curious if anyone has ever confirmed this with a Ward Labs test or something similar. Do you have some general rules of thumb you’ve found for each brand (Muntons v. Briess)? I recall on another...

    Why aren't Tripels more popular?

I definitely get what you mean and I think for the mainstream that's true. But even grocery stores are still littered with 8%+ DIPAs. I suppose it's the crowd that regularly purchases those beers that I'm considering.

    What are you drinking now?

Agreed, Guinness was by far the closest to the real deal. I try and always keep it on hand. Here’s another one that I’ve been enjoying and does a fairly good job of recreating the original.

    What are you drinking now?

The Athletic was unfortunately my least favorite of the bunch. It came across the most thin and sharp tasting, and had this really prominent raw grain flavor that I found distracting. I usually kind of like a bit of that in some lagers, but I’m guessing without the alcohol to balance it just...
