Why don't U.S macrobrews taste like European?

Last time I was in Germany (2018) I was able to buy Budvar at the local gas station, along with a selection of many beers. They also sold it at one of the grocery stores in the Frankfurt airport. IIRC back in the 80's when I was stationed in Germany someone had to bring it back from another...

Why don't U.S macrobrews taste like European?

Was it a Budvar? If so not the same beer, comes from Czech Republic. Unless something has changed Budweiser can't be sold in Germany due to the beer purity law.

Trouble with old LME in a time of need

I used my last 6lbs of lme as part of a Baltic Porter. It worked in that application.

    Pound of Flesh

That's all I got when I clicked on my link now that I clicked on it. I like that I can mix and match in 10lb increments and still only be paying a little over a dollar a pound depending on what I'm buying. When they have the 20% off coupons it's even better. I don't think we will be seeing...

    Pound of Flesh

https://www.morebeer.com/products/briess-brewers-2row-malt.html Just one example. Buy $59 or more and it's free shipping. All vacuum sealed. Depending on where you live www.ritebrew.com might work out for you too. Great place but shipping is too much for where I live on bulk grain purchases.

Which one of these cappers are best?

The top one. I've had a version of the bottom one break on me and cause a cut hand. I have one that's identical to the Emily you linked. Bought mine off of ebay as an Italian capper iirc. Just a different name imo.

    THC Beer

I've wondered about cannabis for bittering. At least on home brew shop was selling hemp bud by the oz for $20 per iirc. Lots of cbd. However, I harken back to my youth. Smoke the weed, drink the beer. It worked in the 70's and even in the 80's. No reason it wouldn't work now.

If those are cedar stumps like I think you could plant huckleberries in them. For some reason most of the cedar stumps on trails out here have huckleberries growing out of them.

    Love Golf?

I enjoyed it a whole lot! Too bad I was finishing up with a project when it started. Tiger is the man, so is Phil. I absolutely loved the live mics.

    Battery Powered Lawn Equipment

Had a Kobalt string trimmer. Worked great for the first season. Then it wouldn't work, Lowes wouldn't work with me. Ended up tearing apart my 25 year old Homelite gas trimmer. Replaced the rings, gave it a scotchbrite hone on the cylinder walls, and it works again. A ring had broken and...

I do have empathy for him. Just saw the reaction from Barkley. If CB is giving someone crap about golfing, well, it must be a bad day, lol.

    Love Golf?

I just tuned in, Brady has hit 3 times since I've been watching and he's not been happy with anything. I have a feeling this isn't going 18 holes. Tiger just gave Manning a good read on a putt, I wonder how many strokes I'd save with a pro green reader? Lol.

    superstitions and origins

Had a friend with a nice boat, he would take me salmon fishing out in Puget Sound. His one rule was no bananas on the boat. I asked why and he said it's bad luck and will bring bad luck. I pressed him further and it was instilled in him during his time working for a guide boat captain. I...

    Willamette hops, spicy and earthy?

One of my favorites. I think you will like it in your lager. I'm not sophisticated enough to identify all the nuances of the flavors, all I can say is I love the flavor of Willamette in lagers and ales. It adds to the malt flavors while providing bittering.

Trouble with old LME in a time of need

FWIW I purchased 36lbs of LME earlier this year at a very good price. It wasn't worth it. I have limited experience with LME prior to this. IMO it's best used for a moderate to higher ibu brew. What I'm saying is add enough hops to cover up the crazy flavors that come from LME if you can.

    How Popular is Mead?

My interest came from reading Norse mythology. I've made some decent batches but it takes a long time for them to taste right, like over a year. The only commercial mead I've had came from the UK. My youngest daughter brought it back after a trip to England. It was super sweet and over...
