Anyone run nitrogen in their kegerator for any beer instead of Co2?

My understanding is that you can use beer gas to dispense "normal beer". You would just need 4x the pressure and enough line to compensate. I've heard of bars doing this when there kegs are a significant distance from the tap. So definitely a pro when you can't get adequate flow rate with...

Hornindal Kveik is blowing my mind

So what happens if you forget the nutrient? I might have forgot and I can't quite describe the off flavor... I'm going to let it sit for a couple months and see if it goes away.

    Miller high life

Mine fermented down to 1.002. To get 4.6% I would need an 1.037 OG getting you to a whopping 0.19 BU/GU.

I think I did 1/4 oz each time.

    Miller high life

Don't forget it's triple hopped. I tried to clone a High Life with ingredients I had on hand: German pils, corn, Galena and 34/70. It turned out good, but it wasn't High Life. It fermented down to 1.002, so it was higher alcohol. I actually tasted a little apricot/mango. It probably could...

    Fermenting in Corny Keg

The last few times I've actually precharged with the air compressor. I'm not sure if it's a bad idea or not. It is an oil-less compressor, and I figured the yeast needed Oxygen anyway. Cheaper than CO2. Let's me make sure it's sealed and dial in the spunding valve pressure setpoint.

    Electric setup

Not quite, most circuit breakers are only rated for 80% of their nameplate rating. A 15A circuit is good for a heater up to 1,440W, a 20A is good up to 1920W.

    Tubing for carbonated water lines?

I cheaped out and ordered this and it's worked great: https://www.homedepot.com/p/UDP-5-16-in-O-D-x-3-16-in-I-D-x-100-ft-Natural-Polyethylene-Tubing-with-Dispenser-Box-T16004002/304185208...

Hornindal Kveik is blowing my mind

I'm not super impressed. I pitched a day and a half ago and I'm down 18 points. Which is not bad, but I've seen this kind of action from S04. I expected more from the mythical Hornindal beast that boasts 24 hour and done fermentations. I am using the Omega blend. I oxygenated by pouring a...

    Hard Seltzer... current wisdom?

I don't remember, and I didn't take good notes on that one. It got pretty low like 1.005, but not the 0.998 other people were getting. You'll have to let me know how clean the table sugar and Fermaid turns out. I also stumbled upon this the other day, it covers carbonation volumes and ph...

    Hard Seltzer... current wisdom?

I'm currently on attempt #2. The first was a Northern Brewer kit with EC118. Now I'm trying the Omega Yeast Lab recipe that came with the pack of Lutra with the Propper Seltzer Yeast Nutrient. The Northern Brewer kit took 6 weeks and eventually stalled, it had a wine taste to it also. I...

    Could hard seltzer oxidize?

I was thinking more along the lines of hot side oxidation from splashing and transferring without cooling.

Did you figure this out? I'm curious myself.

    Hard Seltzer... current wisdom?

Anyone consider fermenting a pile of Jolly Ranchers into a seltzer? They would provide both sugar and flavor. Not sure how much it would cost though...

    Hard Seltzer... current wisdom?

I was looking and they have "extracts", "super extracts", "fountain flavors", and "emulsions". Which do you use? How much do you use?
