Kegerator via Craigslist- crash course in appliance diagnosis?

Update. Havent had a chance to to full test. But it seems to be working for the most part. Not sure if it was just groggy from long period of no use? Remaining issues/questions: The digital dispaly is always off relative to the themrometer I have in the kegerator - always 4-5 degrees...

Arm in Beer NEIPA - had to put arm in fermenter, this should be interesting.

Just sampled it today. If I do say so myself, fantastic final result. No issue from arm insertion. Maybe I should put my arm in every batch?

Kegerator via Craigslist- crash course in appliance diagnosis?

New to me, older Danby Singlt Tap Kegerator (Model # DKC645BLS). Found it on Craigslist. Before I went to see it I asked the owners to plug it in night before to let it cool, and to put a glass of water in it, so next day I could test ambient air temp and temp of the water. When I get there...

Brew Bucket FTSs System questions: overkill bling?

A litle birdy (child) told me I might be getting an SS Brewtech Brew Bucket 7 gal FTSs System. Looks kind of cool (no pun intended). But having to get an ice cooler for the cooling fluid and pump make it seem a little more trouble than its worth. Am I wong or for that same price a cheap mini...

Heads up: SS Brewtech Brew Bucket fermenter thermometers

I think you need to call them and order it directly. The invoice says "Thermometer | LCD Temp Display Module Dual Temp × 1". Bet both new and old versions have that title. Will see if there is a specific model number on it for reference, but they seemed to know exactly what I was talking about.

Heads up: SS Brewtech Brew Bucket fermenter thermometers

Understood. I guess I have been lucky in past with other companies. Got a readio sytem from Crutchfield, noticed it was last yrs version - they swapped it out. When I got the Tilt I got v2 instead of v3 - they swapped it out. Got a TV from Best Buy that I thought was a 2019 model, was 2018 -...

Moving to Kegging, soliciting for advice on low profile refrigerator.

So far the Fridgedaire is keeping it cold - got one 36 degree reading, open door loses heat quick. So it seems to hover mainly between 37-40. Starts slacking will over-ride thermo.

Heads up: SS Brewtech Brew Bucket fermenter thermometers

Possibly, unreasonable expectations. Like to get what [I think] Im paying for. But when you buy any product, and like it, and buy a second, expecting the same item doesnt seem unreasonable. Iwasant only voicing my personal discontent, but also just a heads up if someone is thinking about...

Heads up: SS Brewtech Brew Bucket fermenter thermometers

I think they are A) trying to get rid of the old stock by only offering that on website(s), and B) putting the newer version in new production inventory. When I bought two Brew Buckets from MoreBeer it was luck of the draw - they must have a mix of old and new inventory.

Recirculate from bottom? Considering this mod for Anvil Foundry....

I got the idea from watching this homemade setup where he incorporates a recirc whirlpool return in bottom of the mash, keep it moving from bottom:

Lol - you gotta do what you gotta do. I was thinking to myself when doign it.... is 15 seconds enough?

Arm in Beer NEIPA - had to put arm in fermenter, this should be interesting.

Im picturing it with that classic cinema effect - slowmotion, key bounces up in the air, heading toward beer, slowmotion jump thru air to catch it,b ut miss....

Recirculate from bottom? Considering this mod for Anvil Foundry....

Im thinking about using the Brewzilla whirlpool arm thru the lid of Anvil Foundry, combined with recirl pump, to recirc from the bottom of the mash. Hoping it will reduce the stirring and bottom hotspots. Thoughts? Work? Not work? No effect? +

Im having horrible luck with Anvil / Blichman quality and service. Anvil Foundry Dents replaced with worse dents....

Meaning they changed the manufacturing process? The first one has no breaks in the circular ridge at all (or backside welds. Those black appearing dots are camera tricks by the way.

Im having horrible luck with Anvil / Blichman quality and service. Anvil Foundry Dents replaced with worse dents....

Not so sure about that, although dont know much about welding I must admit. The spacing between those three spots I would think be equal if planned. And those dents radiate to the edge pretty well although not that clear in picture (see the one at approx 9 oclock position. More importanlty...
