    Airlock!???

You'll probably be fine, just make sure to cool it down more before you close it all off next time.

    Who makes a good Bock?

My vote is for Ayinger, their celebrator is fantastic.

    Scarab in the wort

"Scarab in the barley" :p reminds me of catcher in the rye... they really have nothing to do with each other though

Possible Aging Issue with my TripEL IPA

Whenever I dry hop, I do it for a minimum of one week. I don't think three days is enough for any beer that calls for dry hopping.

    Longhop IPA Label

    Nice, I dig it:mug:

    Wheat beer colors way off?

I think that 0.5lbs of crystal 40 might be a little too dark. I'd maybe try 0.5lbs of crystal 20 first.

How hard is to de-budweise people!

Exactly! If you go to a Bar-b-Q or a wedding and all they have is budlight, then guess what, I'm drinking budlight :D I don't keep the stuff around my house though, I also prefer something more interesting for my day to day quaffs. Even more interesting, my girl loves the beer I make. She...

    ICED while brewing

Don't admit that again, I'll pretend like I didn't see it this time:cross: I'll consider myself a hoe if I can play that game mentioned above. I'm always up for a free stout!

    Brewballs!

All good questions, that's why I was hoping some of you guys had used them before. I'm not entirely sure they are worth $20 at this point but I make big beers a few times a year and I see them coming in handy for that. Perhaps a stocking stuffer from you-know-who this winter.

Where to get one Gallon Glass Jugs

I just got one from austin homebrew for a little over $4. They shipped it with some other stuff I ordered for the same flat rate shipping that they always do as well :) I also have a carlo rossi jug but I like the handle on the jugs from AHS better. And with shipping, they are about the same...

    Brewballs!

Anyone ever used these? They seem pretty handy but for $20 I'd like to hear some opinions of people who have actually used them. I'm sure some of you have before. I really want to know about their accuracy. Anyone see any potential problems with these guys in the primary? Brewballs...

    Bayou Burners

I've got the SQ14 and I really like it. It can easily hold a half full keggle and not buckle under the weight. I have read that it can hold a full keggle as well although I have never filled mine up that much. It may have less BTU's than the other burner you're looking at but it does the job...

    Arctic Alchemy..

That is a great write-up in Forbes. Where can one get the t-shirts they mentioned in that article? Another question: How do you intend to get all your brewing equipment up there if you are only riding bikes?

Sam Adams Double Bock - I need to make something like this!

The double is definitely in the imperial series, I recently had some as well. I have no recipe but I know you will need lagering capabilities if you want to do it right.

    FWH Experiment

Be careful with the citra. I just made an IPA with them and I used 3 oz of citra and 4 oz of centennial. None of them were FWH, but the citra adds an odd bit of spicyness to the mix. It's a weird black-peppery flavor. It still has loads of citrus/tropical fruit notes but there is a very unique...

    Oh the Agony!!

I had a pint that was a tad warm yesterday too, not that bad though. I hope the same thing isnt happening to my kegerator, it's only about 3 months old! I keep it in my garage, it was only 97 degrees outside here in Richmond yesterday:rolleyes: Sorry for your loss, but now you get to do it...

    more hops?

All I read was the title of this thread - the answer is always:D I would think that it's probably going to be pretty close either way. What you are doing is similar to boiling 2.5 gallons for a 5 gallon batch. I did extract for a while and now that I'm doing all grain, I don't really notice a...

    ICED while brewing

I just heard about this last weekend... it may be the worst thing to ever happen to drinking. Buying smirnoff in any way (even for "icing") should instantly revoke your mancard. They did get you good though.

    Racking and Dryhopping Questions

Fr your first question, I've used a muslin bag to hold the hops and then just pull the bag out after whatever amount of time you want. If your beer isn't clear enough at that point then you can just put the airlock back on after you pull the bag of hops out. I have also waited 2 weeks before...
