The 2014 NHC First Round - Results/Speculation Thread

Not to beat a dead horse, but I think this precisely sums up what has people a bit burned by all this. For those who need to re-brew, the lack of will to get sheets in the mail that every other site has exhibited may put Nashville's entrants at a disadvantage for the Final Round. When you set...

The 2014 NHC First Round - Results/Speculation Thread

Based on the post on the Nashville club's Facebook page, it appears they are shooting to be the first center to start judging and the last to mail out scores. So far, they are right on track to meet that goal. Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

Thanks socratesbrewing! :mug: Assuming these hold up, looks like my Oktoberfest and Pils both advanced. Pretty happy with that showing.

The 2014 NHC First Round - Results/Speculation Thread

No luck, looks like patience is the name of the game for me, absent of someone posting the results of cats 2, 3, 5 and 14.... :mug:

The 2014 NHC First Round - Results/Speculation Thread

I did all those steps, but not sure what you meant by "Look for the result with the TN address". Didn't see anything relevant when the search results came up.

Ok disregard that. I tried the link you are all attempting and I'm only getting the judging sites. Seems it's sporadic depending on who is clicking on it. Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

Where are you seeing Nashville results? (Even if incomplete) I couldn't see them on www.brewingcompetition.com. Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

The 2014 NHC First Round - Results/Speculation Thread

I can only hope things went better than three years ago if a couple of the threads I just read are at all true. Yikes... Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

Wow, must've had a serious judging shortage. Has anyone heard of this happening before? (i.e. Not finishing as scheduled) Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

Dual 2000W 120V Recirculating eBIAB Build

I don't believe this has been posted yet, but for those doing the same type of modification to the back of the Auberins box like russki did (I am), this heatsink, which is 135x105x33.5mm, looks to fit very nicely on the back without modification, and gives enough room to install the handy box...

Dual 2000W 120V Recirculating eBIAB Build

If I'm doing 5 gallon batches, one 2000 watt element won't be enough for reasonable ramp times or a good rolling boil. Plus, I'd like the option to do 10 gallon batches from time to time.

Dual 2000W 120V Recirculating eBIAB Build

Of course I missed something that simple. :drunk: On second thought though, P-J's drawing below eliminates a switch and a contactor, which in that small Auberins box, would free up quite a bit of space. I think I like this layout since controlling the two elements independently isn't really...

Dual 2000W 120V Recirculating eBIAB Build

P-J, I'm still looking to start my dual 2000w control panel, hopefully soon. I'll be honest, I'm not hooked on any particular design, I just want functionality. That being said, if the contactors are there only because of the choice of the pushbutton switches, do you have a drawing that uses...

Spice, Herb, or Vegetable Beer Coconut Cream Stout-competition runner up

I also placed in the "anything goes" Bell's competition in 2012. Your stout was the one beer where I thought "I would really like to try this". I've been playing around with the idea of doing a coconut stout for a while, looking forward to trying this one!

    American IPA Hopslam Clone

Yes, they use the house yeast in Hopslam. The only beers that don't use that strain are their lagers and a few specialty beers, like Winter White.

    Conan Yeast Experiences

Very interesting take, so many angles to consider. So after digesting all of this, even though you are no longer running YeastGeek, the source culture for YG001 is still one of the strong performing 4th or 5th generations, correct? I'm done with ECY 29 but I'd love to give YG001 a shot.

    Conan Yeast Experiences

My beer was around 90% base malt, 7% simple sugar and 3% light crystal, 148 degree mash and mine stalled at 73%. It was a good size pitch off a stir plate with 1 minute of pure O2 with a stone, and krausen had formed within 10 hours. I'm not above it still being something I did, but it sure...
