What are you doing instead of brewing this weekend?

Drinking beer! And grilling food. Uerige alt sticke with wild sockeye salmon, cedar plank grilled with citrus, rosemary, dill, and garlic. Going to use the nice swing top bottle for a 100% brett wit IPA I'm bottling tomorrow.

    whatchamacallit Sour Beer

So I hadn't planned to brew at all this weekend. I was just going to Dry Hop My Brett Trois fermented IPA. I had to run to the store to get the hops i needed and while there I decided maybe I should just brew something quick today that I could use the leftover Brett for. So I put this grain...

    Sour beer on a whim.

right. I was planning on doing primary with the Brett Trois, and then after a couple weeks I will add the Pedio and then leave it for 6 months maybe.

    Sour beer on a whim.

So my brett Trois IPA was ready to dry hop. Had to run to the brew store to get some minor items. While there I decided to brew another beer today to pitch on top of the brett Trois yeast cake. So I put this together real quick off the top of my head. So I got 8lbs marris otter, 1lb cara-wheat...

    Dinner was most excellent.

Soaked the cedar plank for 3 hrs in Apple cider. Marinated my Alaskan sockeye salmon fillet in honey, olive oil, garlic, dill and lemon juice. Grilled with asparagas with crumbled feta. Had a homebrew honey IPA while it was cooking and served with a Bancreagie Sour peated ale. Sent from my...

    WLP644 -Brett B Trois

I just brewed my first all Brett beer. I basically just did The Mad Fermentationist Trois IPA Recipe but did a just a bit different. 47% pale ale malt. 38% Belgian wheat malt. 6% caramunich. 5% flaked wheat. 3% aromatic. 2% acid malt. Hops are chinook, centennial, and citra. I did a 600ml...

    First sour brew day.

We'll I had heard the roselare blend doesn't make a very sour beer so I added the extra lacto. I pitched it about 3 hours before the roselare looking to add more sour. I had heard brett should be pitched at lager rates but didn't really know how much was in the packs, and heard a starter was...

    First sour brew day.

Thanks. 24hrs later it's doing something. I'm thinking maybe let this go in the primary for a few weeks and then rack to secondary with some oak cubes and pitch a starter of brett lambicus and maybe another couple dregs? Or should I just leave it in primary for the whole 18 months or so? I want...

    First sour brew day.

Just finished brewing what will hopefully be a funky sour Flanders red kinda thing. I used 3 lbs each of Munich Vienna and Pilsner. 1 lb of caramunich and white wheat. 10oz carared. 10oz special b. 6oz carahell. 6 oz Caraaroma . 0.25lbs acid malt. 1oz at 60min of German hallertau. I just pitched...

BIAB Brew Video. From Grain To Glass

Yeah I guess the main reason why I had it covered was because I just thought it boils alot more vigorously, and quickly. At the time of this batch I hadn't really read anything about DMS and keeping the lid off; my mistake. This batch didn't have any pilsner in it, and also I was opening the lid...

Did I really filter out all yeast before bottle conditioning?

ok cool, guessing then I just need to wait longer. Its 9% abv. Its been 3 1/2 weeks at 68f. If I remember correctly it was like 4 Oz of priming sugar for 5 G.

Did I really filter out all yeast before bottle conditioning?

So I brewed a IIpa. I used 1272 American Ale Yeast. Left in primary for 1 month. I racked to secondary to dry hop for 1 week. I used a fine mesh filter over the tip of my racking cane to keep out the dry hop particles when I transferred it to the bottling bucket. Its been over 3 weeks in...

    Harvested/Washed yeast more productive?

So my first two batches where I used yeast that I harvested, washed and then made a starter with have been very vigorous and the krausen is much larger than ever before. In the past I've used air locks and haven't had a problem well these ones I need a blow off tube because the krausen is so...

What do you think of this Honey IIPA recipe?

Yeah so It is going nuts. I had to take off the airlock and rig up a blow off tube. [/IMG]

What do you think of this Honey IIPA recipe?

We'll I ended up taking your advice on the hop schedule. I had already milled my grains so the grain bill was the same. This batch was my first attempt at a all grain with my new DIY mash tun! Had been doing bias previously. Brew day went great but I ended up being off on my OG. I had 1.068. Oh...
