I just mashed a paper bag

That never worked everytime, and I've tried!

    Ale Asylum Ballistic Clone

I got caught up brewing four other beers in preparation for the Door County Homebrew competition coming up in June, but I'm definitely planning on brewing this soon. Most likely this weekend. I'll probably start with a 2.5 gallon test batch. I'll keep you posted!:mug:

    Hop pairings?

I brew an IPA with Warrior, Simcoe, and Amarillo. Those "proprietary" hops sure are tasty together.

    Noble Pils clone please help

I just opened the first bottle of my Noble Pils. Dryhopping during the d-rest is the way to go. Also, I did a reverse mash which worked terrifically. Here's more on it in the clone thread: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f12/sam-adams-noble-pils-clone-163003/index18.html#post5204596

    Sam Adams Noble Pils clone

So I just cracked open the first bottle. Something must have been wrong with my nose the day I bottled, because a strong hop aroma is really coming through. Dryhopping during the d-rest is the way to go! Also I didn't follow this the clone recipe, but really wanted a German Pils that...

    Another US-05 experiment... temperature fluctuations

Yeah, my beer tastes pretty good and I've brewed with constancy, even my lagers. I also can fit two buckets/carboys/better bottles in my chest freezer-turned fermentation chamber. With only one prob, the gallon of water seemed like the best compromise. Def better than the swamp cooler i used to...

    American IPA Cracked Rib IPA

Holy crap! Near boiling wort? I'm cringing while wondering what the stream of expletives sounded like after you pulled your hand out.

    American IPA Cracked Rib IPA

It was a brewday incident! Until I decided I want a more sessionable IPA, I first brewed this as an IIPA in February 2012. It was cold out (like -5F) and I was freezing my Wisconsin face off. So I was going to name it "Frozen Face IIPA." Until this happened: I was taking care of Lexi, my...

    Sam Adams Noble Pils clone

I just bottled this yesterday. Not a huge hop aroma. At least, not what I was going for. The hydo sample tasted good though, just not as hoppy as I wanted. We'll see how this turns out.

    Another US-05 experiment... temperature fluctuations

I use a plastic gallon container (the ones that I get when I buy RO water at the grocery store) filled with water with the temp controller probe in that. The water, and it's change in temp, will be right around the same as the wort.

    Year-old Flaked Wheat

Well, I brewed a hefeweisen yesterday with this. It's bubbling away now. We'll see how it turns out.

    Year-old Flaked Wheat

It's actually been 14 months in various temps with an apartment move in there. Hell, I'll brew with it and see how it goes. The worst that will happen will be that it will be better than my worst brew. That I know for sure. Thanks

What hop schedule did you decide on? Are you planning on dry hopping? If so, when?

    Year-old Flaked Wheat

About a year ago I ordered 4.5 lbs of flaked wheat from Austin Homebrew Supply for a witbier. I changed my mind and went to my LHBS to get white wheat malt. I haven't used the flaked wheat yet, but I don't really want to waste it. I know some responses will be "brew with it and find out,"...

    Noble Pils clone please help

It was in Zymurgy. This thread also has the the recipe from Zymurgy on the 13th page. https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f12/sam-adams-noble-pils-clone-163003/index13.html There is a good discussion about the recipe throughout as well. I'm lagering this recipe now and I should be bottling it...

    Ale Asylum Ballistic Clone

I'm setting out to clone this tasty upper Midwest/Madison, WI beer, Here is what I know so far: 1. There are a load of Amarillo hops in this IPA. The Ale Asylum website says the schedule is propriety and "none of your business." 2. The the final gravity is 1.012 and the ABV is 7.5%. That...
