    Disappointed with Austin Homebrew Supply

I'm not trying to be confrontational here. I would suggest you go back and read my original response. In that original response I simply stated I could see his point and understand it from AHS position too. If you want to get yourself all twisted up over it, go right ahead. Sent from my...

    Disappointed with Austin Homebrew Supply

Every business is based on supplying something to someone. Stock shortages happen for a variety of reasons. Small businesses sometimes have expenditures that have to be addressed and they have to move slow moving products to the back of the list until capital becomes available to restock such...

    Fruit Beer Lemon-Lime Hefe Weizen

Just checked my FG and kegged this up after 3 weeks in the fermenter. FG finished up at .010, probably due to mashing at 154. Flavor and color are awesome. I didn't get as much up front lime flavor as I wanted, probably due to the quality of limes I zested. Overall I'm extremely pleased and...

    Disappointed with Austin Homebrew Supply

Anything worthwhile is worth waiting for. I know what it's like to wait on something on back order. I can also look at the situation from the perspective of having 20+ years experience in inventory control. I guarantee AHS wants to get your product in stock and out to you as soon as possible...

Two compressor appliances on the same outlet.

That's good info. I'm not gonna sweat it. Thanks!

Two compressor appliances on the same outlet.

Supposedly, the momentary drop in power when one of the two compressors cycle is the issue. It's a 20amp circuit on that plug, so I can't imagine a cycling compressor would draw it down much if at all.

Two compressor appliances on the same outlet.

Can you plug a refrigerator and a freezer into the same outlet. I've been told you shouldn't plug two compressor using appliances into the same outlet, because it will cause the compressors to prematurely fail. I only have one outlet on the wall that my kegerator is currently plugged into and I...

How long before no light bulbs for bulb heater cans?

Rough Service bulbs can still be purchased in all wattages, since they were erroneously left out of the bill ending incandescent bulbs.

    BIAB Electric Brewing System

I'm using the High Gravity 44qt system. I pretty much only do 5gal batches, so I can't speak about 2.5 or 3gal batches. The largest grain bill I've brewed so far was 14lbs and I'm betting it will do larger grain bills with no real problems. I am more than happy with the system.

Chronical Fermenter by SS Brewing Technologies

I wonder if you can get the Brew Bucket with the thermowell? If so, it would be perfect for my mini fridge fermentation chamber.

What is your mill set at?

Factory setting for me also. Double crush for BIAB and rarely drop below 80% eff.

    Basket lined with SS mesh

I honestly have no idea what size the bag is. I'll get it measured and measure out the basket and post it shortly.

    Basket lined with SS mesh

I was also thinking a bag with a round bottom instead of an envelope shape might work. Unfortunately, I have absolutely no sewing skills.

    Basket lined with SS mesh

Now that's an idea I haven't thought of. The potato masher would have to have a pretty long handle.

    Basket lined with SS mesh

I have a 44qt Bayou Classic kettle converted to an e-kettle. With the basket out the bag is perfect. With the basket in place the bag is way big. I've tried the binder clips and they help, but I still have a hard time getting a good stir. I like your idea of using small stainless wire.

    Basket lined with SS mesh

Are there any basket users out there that have considered lining the basket with SS mesh and doing away with the cloth bag? I have been trying to figure out how I might do this. Forming the mesh to the basket would be easy, but how would you attach it to the basket? Maybe silver solder? My...

So, my carboy took a bounce.

Good deal, I'll keg it up in a day or two and drink it fast, lol. Cheers!

So, my carboy took a bounce.

I was preparing to transfer a Wit into a keg, when I bumped the carboy (Better Bottle) and sent it tumbling off the table. I managed to catch it with my feet, but it took a pretty good bounce. No cracks and the stopper and airlock stayed in place. I set it back into the ferm chamber to let it...
