Tips you would like to have known when you first started brewing?

You can soak bottles in practically anything. I use my 30$ Coleman cooler and it holds 50 bottles.

False bottom or filter for Mash and Boil?

Well, in that caae he can just sanitize before dropping in the hops. Anywhere past 170F works fine. I really don't see a reason to recirculate the hops.

    Safety Lesson for Beginners

Damn, you crashed with both a strap and handle? This is like having seatbelt, airbag, weak spot on the frame to absorb the shocks but dying from a rock through the windshield.

Why do you recirculate while boiling?

    Lager not lagery enough

    Lager not lagery enough

Vienna Lager I read that book and I really like what I made afterwards. Here's the recipe I do based on it. Maybe it can inspire you. I use a three step water filter and campden. Full step mash ending at 152f for 60 minutes 10# Vienna malt with half a pound of both melanoidin and Carapils...

Have 20 gal kettles? Are there fermenters for this size?

In a 20 gallon kettle, it is expected that you brew a 10 gallon batch. 14 gallon fermenters are perfect for that.

Feel like I’ve been ripped off

It's ok. Because by brewing your own beer you are saving money. Now you just saved a little less.

Anyone ever use one of these as a fermenting chamber?

That could be pretty, displayed in a man cave.

I Want a Gronola Bar in a Glass!

I bet you in can do a second beer with that batch. Batch sparge the grain and extract a second running. I heard of breweries making a second weaker beer with the grain instead of sparging. Like a batch sparged new batch.

I Want a Gronola Bar in a Glass!

Ok hear me out. This idea is even better knowing that you can malt your own grain so the cost can still be low. Triple your grain bill and add whatever the amount of water that the extra double grain will absorb. Full volume, no sparge. So basically, you'll get very low efficiency, but you'll...

    Fermentation/lager chamber all in one?

You could also hack through the separation wall and make a big unified chamber.

    Fermentation/lager chamber all in one?

I don't think that you can control the both sides separately. Keeping the freezer at 35 means you would have to turn off the whole fridge, hence losing control on the refrigerator side.

    is the AHA a scam??

Even wikipedia disagree with you. At this point, what is your purpose? "Nonprofit and not-for-profit are terms that are used similarly, but do not mean the same thing. Both are organizations that do not make a profit, but may receive an income to sustain their missions. The income that...
