went to lowes yesterday and purchased the materials to make my counterflow chiller...50' of 3/8" copper tubing and a 50' garden hose... is it too long? will i lose heat transfer towards the end of the run or will it continue to work anyway? is there no such thing as too long of a cfc...

i was just going by what the guy at the homeberw shop told us... here's the yeast cake at the bottom of the fermenting bucket after racking into secondary...

we racked in to secondary yesterday after crashing it for 2 days in the kegerator... final gravity dropped to 1.020 which calculated out to 5.3%abv now it sits for two more weeks then we'll put it on the gas!

today we brought home 3 corny kegs for $20 each... plus a gas mixing panel so we can run 75/25 co2nitro complete with qd's for $20 and the guy threw in 2 bottles of 3 year old meads he'd brewd, a mulberry and a sugar cane honey mead...

got a northern brewer gift card in the stocking, periodic table of beer poster under the tree...and my incredible wife bought the guinness pub sign that was for sale in the classified section here last week...not here yet but it's on the way! also, my english nut brown is finally ready to crack...
