    Stuck fermentation Belgian Tripel

I'm going to guess it's a Brewers Best kit? Most have been stuck at 1.020 (mine included) but not 1.030... You could try pitching more yeast, but the majority of us with this kit throw are hands up in the air and bottle and age it.

    Yeast starter gone wrong?

The first starter I ever made I used tin foil with good success, then I watched a Northern Brewer video and Dawson used a foam stopper (http://www.northernbrewer.com/shop/foam-stopper-46-60mm.html) Though, I think I'm going to go back to the tin foil with some star san sprayed on it. Also...

    Need Starter Help Fast

Sorry, I signed off for the night after I gave my response. I still think you would be okay with 23% viability, but on the other hand stepping up your starter surely won't hurt matters.

    Need Starter Help Fast

With that OG, I would think a 1 step starter would be enough.

    Frozen on arrival

I would think you are okay. The American Ale pack is likely swollen due to a C02 leak. I would let them get to normal temperature and keep them in the fridge and make starters with them, and I would say you're a okay.

    Yeast starter gone wrong?

Just an update, brewed tonight, pitched the starter I had left, active fermentation within an hour! However, I'm sad to report that the stir plate is DOA. Luckily I have a lifetime warranty!

    Northern Brewer Better Bottle

I'm also in the same boat where I have LHBS's all over me, but NB and really BTV really got me hooked on the brewing bug, so I feel I have to support them with atleast some of my purchases...it's just so hard.

    Northern Brewer Better Bottle

Panties aren't in a bunch for $14 for that... it's the $11 shipping for 2 1oz bottles of femcap that gets me.

    Yeast starter gone wrong?

I honestly don't think it's contaminated, as when I checked it this morning the liquid level was at 1600ml. Now, when I put it in the fridge this morning, I didn't put the tinfoil, I still had the foam stopper in. Will that effect anything?

    Yeast starter gone wrong?

Thanks, yeah the stirplate was not working this morning, it's a Stirstarter so I do believe I have a lifetime warranty on it, not sure if it covers this sort of thing though.

    Yeast starter gone wrong?

Morning all, So I plan on brewing an irish stout tonight after work and I prepared my starter last night. 2L flask, 1500ml starter. Put it on the stir plate around 7 last night and left it go. Checked it this morning, and sometime during the night it must of blew through my foam...

Yeah, I really like it and it's a lot easier to use IMO. Thanks for the tip, I appreciate it.

Very old Home brew. Is it safe

Should be safe to drink! That 1/8 of crud is just sediment. Be safe not to pour that into the glass and you're good to go!

    Some hop (recipe) advice needed.

Hello all! For my day off today I decided to go to my LBHS and do a bit of shopping for a MLK day brew session. Picked up 3.3 Pilsen Light LME 3.3 Munich Extract 2 oz Chinook 2 oz Simcoe 2 oz Fuggle. WLP011 European Ale Yeast I'm not entirely sure on what my hop schedule...

    Did I make beer bombs?

I'm a fairly new brewer, and without this website and Brewing TV (now Chop & Brew) I would be lost. Keep your head up, we all have to start somewhere! Happy Brewing!

    Brewer's Best Belgian Tripel question

I know this is an old thread, but this is the same issue I'm having with this same kit. It refuses to drop past 1.030. Was in primary for 3 weeks, and just racked to secondary yesterday. Now with this kit, they don't provide a true Belgian yeast, in fact it's S-33. Should I just leave it in...
