My Jester Clone / Copycat keezer

Here are some pics with the draftbox installed & granite tile down. I'm now insulating the draft box & dialing in my electrical connections.

My Jester Clone / Copycat keezer

Its a computer type fan. I'll post the website. The guys there were very helpful. I a'so got a fan to vent the draftbox & accent lighting from there too. I'll post pics of that later. As far as wiring you just cut a 12V DC converter (old cell charger) & splice the wires to the red & black of the...

My Jester Clone / Copycat keezer

I'm mounting a fan in the bottom. No duct work or anything. I have a lot of space (2X4 framing) between the freezer & my skin so i don't think it's really that necessary. But I bought the fan & I'm doing it just in case.

My Jester Clone / Copycat keezer

First off thanks to Jester and many others for ideas & help during my project. I started off with a Frigidaire 7.2 Cu ft freezer (I think like $188 @ Brandsmart) & installed a 6" (5.5" w/ 2X6 lumber) collar. Attached the top of 5/8" plywood with liq nails & 4 bolts through the lid...

    Dry hopping in primary?

I have a question: Seems like a lot of different methods to dry hopping. A lot put in a boiled / sanitized mesh bag into the secondary. Can i do this in the primary? I was not planning on using a secondary. Also, I've read of some putting weights in the bag to keep it off the surface...

    The 'Keezer' Project

Thanks, Jester. Is the tape just under the plywood? I think mine will have to be permanently attached. I'll post some pics of my build soon. Thanks for the blueprint!

    The 'Keezer' Project

Hey Jester, quick question if you're monitoring this thread. The holes in the top to the coffin. Do you use any "edge protection" to prevent any abrasion into the beer lines? It seems there may be some sharp edges cutting through the steel lid & all. I was thinking on just using some Ac duct...

    Co2 welding cylinders????

I'm definitely keeping the 10. I already have what i believe is a 5 now. It's the 20 that's a beast! My plan is to use the 10 for serving pressure for 3 kegs & use the 5 for force carbing.

    Co2 welding cylinders????

Well, I pulled the trigger. 20 bucks for a 10 lb and a 20 lb. I figure i can't go wrong. I didn't realize, the 20 is huge! Looks like it's time to find a regulator now.

    Co2 welding cylinders????

I came across a c-list ad for 2 CO2 cylinders. The lady says they are for welding. Can they be used for homebrew?

Different size posts on ball locks?

yeah, i've got that down, my problem is evidently i have a firestone ball lock & a regular ball lock. I didn't really pay much attention before hand as i thought the parts were interchangeable.....NOT! I guess i'm not kegging today!!! Any ideas of a cheap place to buy posts & other parts?

Different size posts on ball locks?

I just stripped down 2 ball lock kegs that I've never used before & found out the posts are not interchangeable!!!! After about an hour of cussing & kicking the dog! Now I have a couple poppets that are damaged, and a gas in tube that is damaged. How do i know how to order replacements? On...

    wyeast 1084 Irish ale???

I'm planning a sweet stout using the 1084 but first want to make a "lighter beer" so i can wash the yeast & multiply it. Can i use this yeast with a lighter beer? Something very plain I was thinking with just like 2 row & something else. My ferment temps will probably be around 75F. That's...

Applying panneling on sides of keezer???

Thanks, I don't even know what values to plug into that wizard. I'm assuming if i have this fan: Product Dimension: 80 x 80 x 25mm Net Weight: 60g Rated Voltage: 10.8~13.2VDC Starting Voltage: 7VDC Rated Current: 0.16A Power Input: 1.92W Fan Speed : 1800+/-10% R.P.M Max. Air...

Applying panneling on sides of keezer???

I found these. They have 3 pin connectors. Can i just cut that wire & splice to cell charger? http://www.coolerguys.com/840556014225.html http://www.coolerguys.com/840556051763.html And this runs off 115V. so i wouldn't have to bother with 12V adapter.....right...

Applying panneling on sides of keezer???

Thanks for all the science. Is a 80 cfm fan enough then. I'm planning framing out of 2x4's so i may have more space. I just bought the Fridgadare 7.2 today & found I have to swap out 2 pin lock kegs for 2 ball locks to make it fit. Can't wait to get started. Another question: Using a low...

Applying panneling on sides of keezer???

Funny you responded, Jester. I was already reading your thread. That fan you mounted on the bottom, What kind of fan is it? Where did you get it? How much$$? How is it wired? Also the coffin box on top. Did you just cut a hole in the lid with a sawzall the size of your coffin box? I was...
