Pumpkin beers: Discussion, developing recipes, tips tricks, and a good practices

After reading about Revy's trouble with using a carboy as his primary, I'm wondering what would be a better primary? I have the option of using a 6 gallon carboy or using my 5 gallon Pail Ale. Should I use the 5 gallon bucket for primary then the carboy for secondary, or vice versa? Any...

    Favorite Brewing Music

I live in Louisiana and love some good Cajun and Zydeco music playing while I brew. It definitely puts the beer in a good mood. Good call and cheers to dancing yeasties!

Secret confession of a home brewer

I used to hate IPAs as well. Couldn't stand them, but for some reason I kept trying them. Some I still hate, but some I absolutely love. I just brewed my own IPA and have already drank most of them. I will finish the last three tonight actually which means I need to brew up another batch. Damn...

it's so funny that you posted this today because I just got this joke played on me at work. Ye Olde Pube Premium Bitter

It was a Family Guy joke! I can't belive nobody got that. Peter builds a bar in his basement and names it Ye Olde Pub, takes a second look, and changes it to Ye Old Pube

    Ooooh Back to School

I'm in Grad School right now and it is very f*cking expensive. I work full time and play rugby, so I'm only able to do/afford one night class a semester. This semester's bill is $750. I took two classes last semester and the bill was $1,200 but I hated all of the added stress. It also gets in...

    Moving beer

I'm sure way more experienced brewers will come along and answer this for you, but I think your best bet is to make the beer at home, put the wort in the carboy, transfer it to your friend's basement, then pitch your yeast once you have the carboy where it will stay.
