Transfer From Fermenter to Keg - Your Method?

I use an auto-siphon to go from my carboy to the keg. I don't use any CO2 in the process.

Advice needed on Chillers Plate or Counterflow

Quite a few times. I hate those things. I tried quite a few different ways to filter out the hops but my chiller still gave me problems. Getting a clogged chiller at the end of a brew day royally sucks. Cleaning them is a royal pain as well. I made my own counterflow chiller and it made a...

    Concrete Roller Mill

Gap measurements between rollers are measured in the thousandths. Concrete is not that precise of a material. Your crush is most likely going to be pretty poor. If you have the ability to make a concrete lathe...why not just build metal rollers? I'd understand if you were going for some kind...

    PH Meters

First one I purchased: Milwaukee pH 600 for about $30. Total waste of money. Only had accuracy into the tenths so it just wasn't accurate enough for testing wort. Might be useful for testing the pH of Star San, but that's about it. Second one I purchased: HM Digital PH-200 for about $80...

[SPOILERS] Star Wars - The Force Awakens / Rogue One

I like that when it was blowing up, Snoke was all, "Fine, just abandon the planet and grab Kylo before you leave." He was totally expecting the sucker to be blown to smithereens just like the previous two. One of these days they'll figure out that making these planet killers is just not...

    My wife is pissed

See, what you need to do is have a notepad and pen beside you while you drink, and whenever she's in the room, take a sip and then jot down some notes. Tell her that you're doing research for a beer blog and you have to get all of these beers sampled before Thursday.

Bud Light tries to look crafty

"For the first time in eight years, Bud Light has a new look." If you don't count the fifteen different bottle types and the NFL specialty cans in the past eight years, sure. Totally new look. I'll hold out for the bowtie vortex cans.

There's really no reason to watch 123 unless you want to get angry.

Wearing a face mask when brewing

I always forget to wear a dust mask before milling and then spend a half hour coughing and sneezing afterwards. Every dang time. Maybe I should hang a dust mask on my mill to remind me. Nah. That would be too easy.

Automated Valves - Are They Worth It?

You know what's really lacking in the homebrew market? Fine-control valves for fly sparging. Ball valves don't provide enough control. One tiny little nudge on a ball valve is the difference between 1 quart a minute and 3 quarts a minute. I went to a pro brewery and they had this valve on...

Automated Valves - Are They Worth It?

I think the seals on your ball valve need replacing.

I think I broke my beer

Be sure to keep it out of sunlight and fluorescent light while it's sitting there in your garage.

Will an electric brew pot damage/ scorch the surface that it sits on?

I purchased some cork drawer lining material for my electric stand and I do not recommend it at all. The cork gets wet with wort sometimes, and then it sticks to the pot and then the cork gets all ripped up.

Sliced keezer seal. How can I save it?

It's really not that big of a deal. If it bothers you, you could get some white electrician's tape. That should cover it up.
