    Fermentation chamber - Jamison, PA

Not interested, but thought i'd say hi to a neighbor :) I'm right across almshouse in warwick... Let me know if you have anything else you want to get rid of for a reasonable price. EDIT: You might consider putting a variation of the word "brew" in your in your CL post. I have an RSS feed for...

    Wanted: 3-way co2 Manifold

Looking for an inexpensive 3-way co2 manifold, preferably with 5/16 barbs and definitely with check-valves. I also have plenty of stuff to trade (regs, sankey couplers, etc.) to sweeten any deal. Let me know what you need. Thanks!

Yards Brewing:Philadelphia Pale Ale hop question

ASIDE: For the record, I recently underwent radiation therapy and lost most of my tastebuds as a result. I then got a sinus infection a few days later and could smell very little. Yards ESA was one of the only beers that I could STILL SOMEHOW enjoy. :)

Nothing like ESA -- see my last post for my notes on Philly Pale Ale :)

Yards Brewing:Philadelphia Pale Ale hop question

Extremely possible, leaning towards that myself. I've been told that their house malt is a canadian 2-row and to try that. Despite the bottle saying that it's pils-based, i tried a cdn 2-row last time and got extremely close. The only things i'll change for round 3 are going single-malt and...

Open Heart Surgery on my MLT mid stuck sparge

I like the larger water heater supply line braided hose for this -- much more resilient... I accidentally sheared my last small oen in half with my cheapie plastic mash paddle the last time I used a small one.

The WLP002 on my stirplate is sentient!

"In an experiment, clumpy yeast cells, like those shown in green, had an advantage over isolated yeast cells, like those in red. This was because cells in clumps captured food produced by their neighbors, which would otherwise have gone to waste. Scientists think this scenario could help explain...

Yards Brewing:Philadelphia Pale Ale hop question

it was good... i really like it. it's in the same vein, but i certainly wouldn't call it a clone. The color is considerably darker. There is substantially more mouthfeel (almost chewy). The pilsner malt does not come through very well. It could use a tiny bit more bittering and flavor hops...

Yards Brewing:Philadelphia Pale Ale hop question

i kegged it lastnight. pretty damn close, but here are some slightly premature observations: Next time I think i'll try 5.5lbs american pilsner, 4lbs american 2-row + 1lb crystal 40. I'd also change all of the flavoring hop additions to around .35oz @ 15 mins.

Home Brewing (may have) Helped Save My Life!

thanks! yea... it seems to run in my family. i wasn't quite a well off as some of my relatives though. the largest was about 11cm (not mm) and out of around 12 foci, 2 had made it through. if it ended up anywhere else, if i understand correctly, they should still be follicular cells and if not...

Home Brewing (may have) Helped Save My Life!

Hello from Bucks County, PA! So, I've been meaning to write this up for some time, and I figured now might be a good time since I'm sitting in a hospital bed, bored and high on some pretty good drugs :) Anyway... I've been lurking on the site quite a bit (and have learned a TON... thanks!)...
