    Dogs

Here is the shot of our dog Birdie which inspired our cartoonized version for my brewery logo plus a glamour shot of her on a bed that is going to be in an advertisement for my work...

Why should I stick with this frustrating hobby?!

Wondering what type of filter you were using... I just use the nylon 5 gal paint strainer bag that fits perfectly into my fermenting bucket. I don't have to worry about pouring the wort into a smaller strainer/filter that gets clogged and starts to back up. Just pour it all into the bucket...

    Black IPA

If you do decide to brew one, I am really pleased with the Northern Brewer Black IPA kit. It is delicious and all my friend's are loving it too.

    Basic yeast starter questions

I wind up just using a small saucepan to boil up my mini-wort rather than doing it in the flask. I know the flask is nice as a one-vessel option, but I just find it easier to transfer into the sanitized flask than to worry about boilovers or the narrow mouth of the flask.

Recently Bought a 2 Corny System from Midwest- I CANNOT get them apart

If the keg is moving, try sitting on it while trying to loosen the post with the wrench between your legs... I think I may have seen that technique on one of the Northern Brewer TV videos.

First ever brew! Total noob has some questions (pics to come)

Congrats on your first brew... I am 7 months in and totally hooked! You'll be totally fine. 1.034 seems a bit low for an OG, but I am sure you will wind up with a good summer drinkin' beer. I recommend a couple of things from your comments. First, get some cheap 5 gallon paint strainer bags...

    Calling all Scotch drinkers...

+1 Balvenie has definitely become my go-to "everyday" scotch. Good flavor & relatively affordable. The Doublewood is my stock scotch, but the Caribbean Cask was really good too. I save the longer aged stuff (18+) for a special treat every now and again.

    What are you drinking now?

Jack 'n Coke (is that allowed!?!?)
