    What are you drinking now?

The stock rail on the bottom of the Celestron C9.25 SCT mounted just fine on the EQ6-R Pro. But my C9.25 is an older gen 1 scope, I can't speak for the newer generations. Sure - PM away, I'll help if I can. :)

    What are you drinking now?

Here in Prescott AZ, my house is at 5400 feet above sea level latitude 34° - usually Bortle 4-5. A little confused on your Celestron adapter question - I'm not sure what adapter you are referring to... Here are 3 of my astrophotos, Pacman Nebula, Rosette Nebula, and Flaming Star Nebula -...

    What are you drinking now?

Nice! I enjoy DSO astrophotography also. I have an Explore Scientific ES80, Explore Scientific ED127 FCD100, and a Celestron C9.25 SCT, that I mount on a Skywatcher EQ6-R Pro.

What did I cook this weekend.....

I reverse seared a big ol' Ribeye on the pellet grill - it was good!

Ferm Cap - Love it? Hate it?

I use it and I like it. I also have never had a problem with head retention or off flavors.

    First time lager help

I use a Tilt Hydrometer during fermentation. I do the diacetyl rest near the end of primary fermentation just before it's finished. Then I lager and finally I fine with gelatin and then cold crash just above freezing. I usually always end up with a nice lager when I properly follow that...

Finally brewed my first BIAB. Some of my first brew takeaways

I made a double wrap Reflectix fit for my 10 gallon brew kettle that I just simply tape together with blue painters tape.

    What are you drinking now?

I just pulled the tap on a brand-new keg of homebrewed Maibock - ~7% and very good!

    What are you drinking now?

I Just pulled the tap on a kegged Dopplebock that I brewed a few months ago. It came in at 10% ABV, and it's pretty tasty!!!

I had my telescope out again last week.

Several years ago, I set up my DSLR to track one of my telescopes as it tracked a target across the night sky. You can see the fluctuations in the light pollution and the satellite/aircraft traffic.

I had my telescope out again last week.

There are many different light pollution filters available for astrophotography. They are not polarizing, they are bandpass/bandstop filters and sometimes both in one. I actually have a couple of them myself from back when I was imaging with my DSLR. What is the Best Light Pollution Filter For...

I had my telescope out again last week.

Actually, not much LP coming from PHX (I would hate trying to image in PHX!). The worst in PRC is downtown at Bortle 5, my backyard is Bortle 4. Light pollution map

I had my telescope out again last week.

Yes, I have an automated filter wheel that is mounted right in front of the camera (which is a dedicated cooled astro camera ASI 1600MM PRO) it contains a set of filters that I can choose from (Clear,Red,Green,Blue,Ha,Sll,Olll). The imaging camera is a mono black and white camera that is TEC...

I had my telescope out again last week.

I do this from my back yard. Yes, trying to image with a lot of light pollution really makes things more difficult. My back yard is in a Bortle high 4 to low 5 area - so not terribly bad but not the best either, a lot of people have it much worse than me. I currently use software designed...

I had my telescope out again last week.

Sure, no problem. Here are the final stacked images from each filter, these are still pretty much raw images without much processing done to them (star reduction, noise removal, deconvolution, etc..). The final image is mapped in SHO (Sll image mapped to the Red channel, Ha (hydrogen alpha)...

I had my telescope out again last week.

Yes. I took 356 images each exposure was 5 minutes in length - all of those images were mono (black & white) images. 92 images through the Ha (hydrogen alpha) filter 122 images through the Sll (sulphur 2) filter 143 images through the Olll (oxygen 3) filter. Each of the images through each...

I had my telescope out again last week.

I got four days of imaging in without clouds or Moon! I imaged IC405 (The Flaming Star Nebula) in narrowband SHO. IC405 is both an emission and a reflection nebula and is located about 1500 light years from Earth. I used my ED127-FCD100 telescope with a .7 focal reducer at a 666mm focal length...

What's your maximum capacity BIAB brews?

Yes, I use Reflectix insulation which is plastic. It goes on after mash temp is reached and the fire is turned off. And yes, it will melt if you don't kill the fire....

Buying grain mill vs buying crushed grains

I mill my own. I don't brew in volume big enough to warrant buying and storing grain. I mill my own simply because it is slightly less expensive for me to purchase the grain un-milled, and since I BIAB I want the crush finer than what the typical milled crush is from a HBS which then has to...

    What are you drinking now?

Strangely enough, I'm drinking two. Two days ago I kegged a Russian Imperial Stout and an Imperial Red Ale, I forced carbonated them and tonight I pulled a glass of each just to clear any keg sediment (although both poured pretty clear). Both were high gravity beers with the stout finishing at...
