    Carbonation stone cleaning?

I had a LONG chat with Levi at Glacier Tanks today. I contacted them about the cleaning process for my stone. He said PBW is SAFE for the stone. He talked about why common stone failure issues can relate to damage from blocking the 2 micron pores from oils on the hands/skin or physical...

    Carbonation stone cleaning?

The stone I need to clean has a TC fitting on it, so I can hook to a sump pump tube with a TC/hose barb adapter on the end and back flush that way...Maybe could even hook up to sink, but I distrust impurities in my water supply. Plus prices on the stone have doubled over what I originally paid...

    Carbonation stone cleaning?

Well thank you for that! I had always thought iodophor was a sanitizer, not a cleanser. I want to see how I can get the stone clean before I process it in the autoclave (basically a fancy pressure cooker) so no wort remnants leak into the processing bag. I'll post a photo so you can see what...

    Carbonation stone cleaning?

Howdy! Been on a bit of a 5 year hiatus in homebrewing. Life has been busy! My first two brews this year had some wild issues because its been so long since I brewed! Still pretty good thankfully, that I can enjoy them though. Getting back into the swing of things, I had some question about...

eHerms strike and mash temp setup

Thanks! I don’t know how to do any scripting. I’m sure there is a way to make scripts or what-not for the BCS controllers for every recipe you’ve got if you want to, and load them as needed. I know you can do it but honestly, I’m pretty clueless on the programming aspects. I enjoy the bcs...

eHerms strike and mash temp setup

So... switched to electric from propane back in 2014/15 and then brewed maybe 4 batches and haven't brewed since for various reasons. Brewed again yesterday and had some issues. My system is a eHerms setup, 3 vessels, 2 with heating elements: HLT and Boil Kettle. The Herms Coil is...

    Wisconsin 20 G EHERM system-BCS automation

Necro Post I know. But... I have some questions about the glass rinse drip tray and eHerms usage. What is the best drip tray with rinse feature for 6 taps? What is the best way to hit strike temp in the MLT without setting HLT to higher than your mash temp on an eHerms setup? TD

☕ Coffee ☕: Ingredients, Roasting, Grinding, Brewing, and Tasting

Man, Kudos to you. I just can't seem to get into the swing of RoastWorld. I finished with three roasts: Kenya, Ethiopian, and another Ethiopian. So far tried two of them, and tasting great. Still on bullet learning curve after almost 3 years, but one and half of which I was trying to learn on...

    Dissolving water treatment salts/gypsum etc

What about putting them into a pint or quart sized mason jar and shaking it up before stirring? If I hit a heating element, it can ruin it, while stirring with spoon, and was thinking the jar might work well. Heck, maybe dissolve in my stir plate! Just curious if the volume of either pint or...

    Dissolving water treatment salts/gypsum etc

Thanks! I killed a heating element trying to stir the minerals and thus killed that brew session because I didn't have a spare. I Had bought a special bottle cap that let you connect a gas ball lock to it in order to dissolve chalk. I tried it a couple of times and didn't work well. I think...

    Dissolving water treatment salts/gypsum etc

Howdy. Been on a brewing hiatus for several years, and getting ready to brew again. Have a question for folks about getting the water treatment additions to dissolve into the water. I typically will use my RO water supply to collect water for the HLT/Sparge tank and Mash tun, then use Bru'N...

Its hard for me to keep very good records. I had a Burundi recently that has been a stand out for past several months, so I'd have to say Burundi Kayanza Masha Station, was my fave of the year. brewing gadget, well I don't use it much anymore, but it is super cool - Coffee Lab VST3...

There was a SM offering I saw yesterday and bought with highest sweetness rating I’ve ever seen. Sidama shantawene scored 9.6 for sweetness. They had also a DP available.
