Problem Boiling 4 gallons with a 2000 watt element

    It's a 120v element on a 20 amp circuit. It's a brewhardware element. I don't think it's faulty but I don't know how to check it either.

Problem Boiling 4 gallons with a 2000 watt element

I have a 44 qt bayou pot with. 2k element in it. I can get 4 gallons from 80 degrees to 154 in about 20 mins, but from there to boiling is taking over 40 mins and its a weak boil. Seems like something is not right. The pid is in manual mode 100%. I just added a wrap or reflectix and it did t...

    220 question

I see a lot of post talking about spa panels. Is there a specific reason to use one of those? I was always planning on 110 but now...

    Heating element questions

    Heating element questions

    1. I will be setting up a EBiab system. How many gallons can a 2000 watt element bring to a good boil? I know it's now enough to boil 5 gallon batches but could it at least mash a 5 gallon batch? 2. If I wanted to make a heat stick to supplement when doing bigger batches how long can the...

Removable element, How important is it??

How many people wish the could remove there heating element more easily for cleaning? Is it really that important? I am trying to decided if I want to do a build with tri-clover setup from brewhardware.com so the element can come out easily or just go with a normal screw in setup If you...

Splitting a batch before the boil??

Does this sound like a bad idea? I was thinking about splitting a 5 gallon batch after the mash is complete so I could possibly make two different brews with the same grains but different hops and yeast. 2 boils means more work but is that the only downside? Anyone for or against? Please...
