    Keg Dispensing - Help Needed

Small update. I've upgraded the line to a 6ft line using a 1ft line and 5ft line with a "Universal Connector". However the stout is still mainly foam when I dispense it so I'm going with over-carbed beer. Can someone give me a run-through on how to connect up a CO2 tank and regulators to a...

    Meat Lovers Extract Brew?

Hey everybody, Me and SWMBO are both a big fan of meat. However she's not a beer drinker... yet. So I'd like to make something special. I know that there have been a number of bacon recipes circulating the internet but I'd be interested in combining the following: Steak Bacon Black...

    Keg Dispensing - Help Needed

I think it's most likely the line. I'll pop to LHBS and have a word with the guy there. Might also get another kit. Do you guys know how to change the line attached to a screw-on connector? Grey plastic thing with a smaller plastic tube inside, screws onto the corny disconnects.

    Keg Dispensing - Help Needed

It's a 5 gal corny. Regulators for a CO2 tank is on my list of things to buy. Maybe ask for them as a birthday or christmas present. Right now the cartridges are filling in until I can afford the regulators and tank. I'll change the line, hopefully tomorrow.

    Keg Dispensing - Help Needed

Hey everybody, I'm a student and I've finally achieved what most students would be rather jealous of. I have a keg in my room. Now I don't have to leave the room for beer. :P However... 1) I've currently got a winter stout being consumed from it. The CO2 is a 16g cartridge system and I've...

    Hard Lemonade - Metabisulphites?

Hi all, I found a Hard Lemonade recipe on this site and accordingly went to buy Lemon Juice. However when I got back, I found out that the lemon juice had Potassium Metabisulphite (ppm unknown) in it as a preservative. Can I still use this to make Hard Lemonade? I have 3 litres of the...

    Lemonade Concentrate on the UK

Hi all, I'm looking to do a Hard Lemonade recipe. My issue is finding the lemonade concentrate. I live in the UK and it's very hard to find over here. Does anybody know where to find it? I live in the South if that helps.

    Priming a Stout

Ended up priming with treacle and glycerine. Trying to make it fairly dry but end up with a decent mouthfeel. (I had leftover treacle from a treacle tart recipe.) I'll leave it in bottles for a month before cracking one open.

    Priming a Stout

I recently made a Edme Stout from a kit and it's ready to bottle and prime. However it isn't as thick as I would have hoped a stout would be. I'm wondering if I should/could prime it using something like syrup or treacle and that would hopefully make it the consistency of something like...

A slight issue with my stout...

No expected FG given. I thought 4 days was a bit early but it said 4-6 days so I accepted it until it just restarted bubbling.

A slight issue with my stout...

I got an Edme Superbrew Gold - Dry Extra Stout kit a week or so back. The instructions said it should ferment within 4-6 days. I was in the kitchen/brewery for about 20 mins and the airlock didn't bubble once. It's been about 4 days so I thought it was fine and then added a pack of finings. I...

Thank you everybody. This is all really helpful. :) How much carbonation would everybody suggest for a stout? I'm looking for a smooth, silky/creamy textured finish.

    A few newbie questions...

Hi everybody, I know these questions may seem basic and I know that at least one of them will probably make you roll your eyes and scream at the computer and for that I apologise. 1) I have a stout brewing. It's soon going to be coming to the end of it's life in the fermenter and ready to...

    Questions from first-time brewers

As a n00b to brewing, all I can say is thank you for helping me when I've had a question or two. In regards to the search function, think of it like Google but it's a lot harder to work out what's irrelevant and what's not. That's why n00bies like me ask once we can't find what we want on...

    First Time Extract Recipe

Hi everybody, I've done two kit-in-a-can brews (cider - bottle conditioning, Irish stout - fermenting) and I'm looking to do my first extract brew. I rather like stouts, porters and ales. I'm wondering if anybody has any recipes suited for a 5 UK gallon/22.5l fermenter. Biggest pots I have...

    My First Brew

Bottled my cider today. Carbonated 5 UK gallons with 1l pressed apple juice (not from conc.) which had just over 4oz sugar in it. FG was 1.015. Is this too high for a cider?
