Am I missing something or an Idiot?

+1 for the reason mentioned. But also, GFCIs and motor loads dont play well together. You could experience a lot of nuisance tripping while using your dryer.

What I did for beer today

I checked the temperature of my fermenters in the swamp cooler this morning. Added a frozen water bottle. Ten gallons of a Pale fermenting away from Saturdays brew. I will then enjoy one of my Ambers this evening when I get home.

    Plate Chiller

It takes about 20 minutes. I regulate the flow to get the temperature I want. Water temp is around 55 here.

    Plate Chiller

I use the B3-12A 40 Plate. Amazon has them for $112. Temperature drop is ~200 to 65 for me doing 10 gallon batches.

    My first AG brew stand

Hi, I just completed my first single tier brew stand. Now that I have used it a few times I have some questions. 1. I used (2) BG-10 burners with needle valves. I ran 1/2 black pipe to a single propane source with a 30PSI regulator to feed them. What are my options to converting to natural...

Nottingham ale yeast in a summer blonde?

I use mostly us-05 yeast in most of my recipes. With the exception of the blonde. For that I use Nottigham. Comes out must crisper and cleaner.

    switch confusion

Correct me if I misread the spec. But the MAX rating for the contacts is 10A. 5500/240=22.9A If it were me, I would use a contactor rated for continuous duty.

which of these spa panels is better?

I have to add my $.02 into this. You will need to add a breaker into your existing panel to feed anyone of these per NEC. Why not just add a GFCI breaker and use a simple unfused disconnect at the load? SHould be much cheaper in the long run. Also, adding a receptacle into a box that is not...

    Pump wort without losing liquid

On my setup, My pump is about 12" below the bottom of both pots. Due to the need of priming my pump I installed a "T" fitting on the outlet of the pump with a ball valve and stainless nipple. Another ball valve on the adjacent side of the "T" to wherever I want the liquid to go. Once its done...

    Heat Stick popping gfci

GFCIs trip under only one condition. There is a current imbalance in the circuit of >3mA. You must assure the current is Line to Line only. In a 110V circuit that would be Hot (black) to Neutral (white) Do not let any current leak onto the ground (bare or Green). Ground is not intended to be a...

What's the advantage of a 90 minute boil?

    Which pump

I recently purchased a 20 gal brew kettle. Now that I have 2-11 gallon batches under my belt, I have come to realize I need a pump. Moving hot liquid around is dangerous and back breaking. What pump would you suggest?

Does a regulator regulate back-pressure too?

In my experience, No it will not regulate back pressure. I always store my kegs after carbonating at ~30 PSI to keep the lids sealed. When I get ready to serve from it, I have to release the excess pressure.

    Rubbermaid problem

I used a dremel tool and removed the rest of the orange to the beveled edge. I then installed the bulkhead to just the white portion.

    Beer smith volumes

That could be my problem. When I upgraded to all-grain recently, I couldnt find a default equipment profile for 10 gal pot/ 10 gal (38L) cooler. So I copied 5gal/19L and renamed it. I thought I changed all the info to match my setup, but maybe missed something. I will look and let you know...
