This is why this forum rocks! I would have never thought to look for something like this, easy way to see just how chemistry can change your beer. Otoh, If I keep reading posts here I'm sure I'll end up going broke LOL. But at least I will be drinking good beer!

I got a kit in a can back in the 90's. Instructions said to combine with corn sugar and boiling water then ferment. It was awful but inspired me to find a lhbs. FF after a 15 year absence from brewing I'm just getting ready to brew my first batch and I'm stoked!

I am going to brew a english brown ale and plan to cold crash. Would adding a clarifier during the boil be any benefit?

Hey guys I have a question about bottle priming I was thinking about bottling right from the primary fermentor. Can I mix up the priming sugar and dump it right into the primary or would I be better off using fizz tabs. I have read mixed reviews on those and also read some folks use Domino...

This looks interesting. How consistent is the wort temp throughout the fermentor? Also what is the lowest temp you have achieved? Thanks!

Just ordered a kit from love2brew. They have a good selection of 2 1/2 gallon kits and BIAB as well.

I seriously doubt I will brew 5 gallon batches. I have in the past but at this point in my life I would rather stay with 2 1/2 extract, but i am interested in progressing to 3 gal BIAB. So your point is well taken for a larger kettle. I have been looking at 8 gal as they seem to fit both...
