    Safe saison

Noob question; Is making a saison like a normal ale or do you need to separate equipment like when you make a sour? Just want to be sure I do not taint my gear.

How long will something last in a keg

FYI - tastes fine. Just need to fix my co2 tank. Leaking now when I open the valve. But the stout was still stout!

    Empty Airlock

Well I just bottled it. Came in around 6.5 % abv I think. It tasted like beer but didn't get to try it without priming sugar. We will see in a few weeks.

    Empty Airlock

The flies are only in the airlock. There is a very tiny layer of sanitizer and that's where they rest. I don't see any floating in the beer.

    Empty Airlock

The air lock smells a little sour, but it's got some dead fruit flies in it. Wondering if the beer itself will smell better when I open it. If I have time I will try and bottle it today.

    Empty Airlock

So I made a Belgian dubbel back in October. Let is sit until now and noticed the airlock is empty. Wondering if there is anything special I should look out for? I know fermentation took place prior to the airlock going dry but worried it got ruined since it has been sitting exposed for an...

    Does this look normal?

9 days into fermentation (Belgian dubbel). The kruezen looks more "brainy" than others I have done. Only brewed and handful of batches so far (less than 10) just looking to see what other think of the appearance. Bubbled up in the first 24 hours like normal and got a head about an inch thick...

How long will something last in a keg

A buddy and I brewed an oatmeal stout last fall. Hitting the year mark in a 5 gal keg. We drank some but probably several gallons left. Hasn't been touched in months and no hoses attached because I didn't want them to mold. It's been in a kegorator the whole time and I am wondering if I should...

    Supplies in the Car

I do not live close to a local supply store. However, I work about 30 mins from one. I was thinking I could run there during lunch to pick up supplies for the weekend (all grain brew). The issue I have with the idea is i would have to leave the grain and hops in the car (not professional to...

    Extract Tang

I am wondering if anyone have ever noticed or experienced an certain flavor with extract beer that goes away when moving to all grain. I called it a "tang" and I seemed to lessen with each sip. I've done two batches of all grain and not noticed that flavor. Any ideas as to what could cause an...
