    Milk Cooler for Fermentation?

Everytime I visit the kids school and I see the milk cooler in the lunch room I always wonder how well they may work as a fermentation chamber? I would assume they have industrial motors, compresors, etc...in other words a bit more heavy duty than a home fridge or freezer. Many are stainless...

Beergas is Expensive in Tampa...any Suggestions?

How many kegs are you guys getting out of a 20# beer gas tank? I know they aren't rated in pounds but the one I have is similar to my 20# Co2 tank. Mike

Dry Hopping....1/2 Ounce in 2.5 Gallons same as 1 Ounce in 5 Gallons?

I am going to do a bit of experimenting with some dry hopping, if I split a batch in half and use half as much hops will this be accurate? What if I split into 1.25 gallons and used 1/4 ounce of hops? If I find something I like will I get the same results by using 1 oz in 5 gallons?

    Extension for My Regulator?

I have three tanks of gas in my house.....CO2 for beer and soda, beer gas for my stout faucet, and argon for my Wine Keeper. I want to get things a bit more organized and put all of the regulators on a board in one place. I have seen regulators sell on eBay that have a length of hose that...

I think StarSan would be plenty good, I have been kegging for 5 years and I never take my kegs apart...I just run water and starsan through them. Mike

Small Scale Cask Ale (1/2 Gallon)? Growler with Modified Cap?

If you used flip top bottles I am not sure how you would serve the beer? If you were wanting to serve a true cask beer I think it should be gravity or pump fed after it is allowed to settle for a few days. Mike

Small Scale Cask Ale (1/2 Gallon)? Growler with Modified Cap?

I would really like to try to make some cask ales but would like to do it on a scale that is works for me. In my opinion 1/2 gallon (4 pints) would be a perfect size, it could be opened and consumed over 2 or 3 nights with no issues. From the reading I have done it appears that casks are...

Two Beers, One Yeast, Two Different Fermentations

Thanks for the replies. Is it common to have fermenations that don't cause a lot of airlock activity? I don't recall having many...or any for that matter. Mike

What ID Line are you Using for Beer and Gas?

My kegerator has evolved from 2 taps to 5 over the last several years. It has been put togeather at different times with different parts. I should probably leave it alone becuase it works but I think I have a small gas leak and also it's probably time to change the lines since they have been...

    Anyone using Odiker Clamps

I need to run some new beer lines and clean up some old lines and I am thinking about using Odiker clamps for a little cleaner look. I have been looking on eBay for the last few weeks and some deals can be found on some groups of clamps. According to the NB catalog I would need "170" for 5\16...

Two Beers, One Yeast, Two Different Fermentations

One week ago today I brewed two different IPAs, both kits from Northern Brewer. Both had a starting gravity of about 1.065 and both had estimated final gravity of 1.017 according to Beersmith. I used US05 on both and both sat next to each other in my garage and fermented in the mid 60's...

Beer in a Bag + Engine.

It is supposed to be similar to the sparkler used on a beer engine.... A sparkler (also called a sparklet) is a device that can be optionally attached to the nozzle of a beer engine.[4] Designed rather like a shower-head, when beer is dispensed through a sparkler, the beer becomes aerated and...
