Scottish Wee Heavy stuck fermentation or high FG?

It's right where I like my Wee Heavies to finish. I usually like my SG around 1.085 so it finishes in the 8% ABV range. And yeah... 3 days without a change in gravity means it's done.

Scottish Wee Heavy stuck fermentation or high FG?

Checking the BJCP stats for a Wee Heavy... FG: 1.018 - 1.040... I'd say it's done. Package that puppy!

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

I've done several Voss NEIPA's and ferment them at 80-82F... grain to glass in ~7 days. Still throws an orange tang type flavor. If I were to try it again, I'd probably ferment it at 78F. It should still ferment out quickly and maybe a little less of that orange tang thing.

Mash Caps... Let me see what you got!

It doesn't necessarily need to float, it just needs to seal out the air as much as possible.

    Hiatuses.

I hung out on a few car/racing forums while I was racing and modding the car but quit after selling the car. Then saw this place when I was researching getting back into homebrew. Which is funny because homebrew was kinda my first hobby I took up in my early twenties, but stopped when I got into...

Mash Caps... Let me see what you got!

I have no idea if it floats... haven't got that far yet. The way I figure it, it won't need to float. It should sit on top of the grain itself as I usually have about an inch or so of wort above the grain bed. When I had the loc-line sitting above and squirting down to the mash, grain would get...

Mash Caps... Let me see what you got!

Ok Ladies and Gents, here's what I came up with... I used my loc-line sparge circle and inverted it to the bottom of a SS lid. With the nozzles pointed up, it'll deflect the flow and won't drill into the mash. Next is to add a seal which I think will just be something like 3/8 silicone hose...

Mash Caps... Let me see what you got!

Agreed. I like the way it would diffuse the wort flow, but yes, the screen sits below the wort and does nothing to seal it from air. That's what I was referring to when I said it's needs more... more sealing. And since it's the only commercial thing out there, I was wondering if anybody has...

Nice. Does the outlet spray cause it to dig into the mash?

Mash Caps... Let me see what you got!

Okay, so I want to implement a mash cap and was thinking about purchasing the NorCal Brewing set-up. @Bilsch and Bracc (RIP) had helped design it, but it needs more. Has anybody used that piece, either the way it was sold or any mods to it? If not, what's your set-up? Pictures appreciated. I...

Miata driver here... NC1 PRHT What model do you have? If you have an NC or an ND you should be fine. I should say I've never driven that area of the country, but a newish car should fly under the radar. Get an oil change when you hit your destination and another when back home. Make sure to...
