    Warm Fermented Lager Thread

I used a total of 4 one gallon milk jugs and just rotated always had 2 in the cooler and 2 in the freezer. I may have had and additional 64 oz bottle in in the beginning to help bring it down to the 50's, but for the most part it was just 2 gallons at a time. Our house is around 67-68f, so...

    Warm Fermented Lager Thread

I recently brewed my first lager using this Munich Dunkel recipe from Brew Your Own Magazine using Saflager 34/70 and it is delicious: https://byo.com/article/munich-dunkel-the-original-brown-lager-of-bavaria/ I fermented mine in a Coolbrewing cooler bag and was able to keep mine in the low...

Just bottled my first warm fermented lager on Wednesday. Beer couldn't be any clearer and tasted great. Looking forward to seeing how it turns out after it carbs up.

    Warm Fermented Lager Thread

Thanks to this thread I now have my first lager (Munich Dunkel) happily bubbling away that I would never have tried in the past. Only took 6+ years of brewing to try a lager. What makes this on even better is that I hit all my numbers, something I rarely do, which I am taking as sign of good...

    Possible infection in cider? Thoughts???

Taste it. It is the only way to know if you want to keep it or not. Get a sample from well below the top and see what it tastes like.

    Possible infection in cider? Thoughts???

Yeah, I am curious how people who make more ciders than I do would handle it. I have not heard of a sour cider but I don't drink a lot of cider to begin with so maybe it does exist. Try and think where you may have caused it and try not to repeat it. Make sure to clean your equipment very...

    Possible infection in cider? Thoughts???

That is not yeast rafts I would say you have a pellicle infection. In the beer world most would say to ride it out and see if it becomes a nice sour beer, with a cider...I am not sure that still applies.

    Warm Fermented Lager Thread

Hey everyone. I have been reading up on this warm fermented lager thread and it has me thinking I need to try it. I have been brewing ales for about 6 years and have always wanted to do a later but don't have the fridge to lager. I would love to try a Munich Dunkel and was wondering if...

    Tap water airlock

This is one of the reasons I switched to a 3 piece airlock from the one piece. The three piece ones don't allow the liquid to get sucked back into the fermentor.

    Grain Mills..... Best one, Why?

I love my Cereal Killer mill. It works great, hand crank or drill, and was a great price. They should go on sale around the holidays, so keep your eyes on it if that is what you want to get. Great effiency boost over Homebrew stores crush. Sent from my Moto G (5S) Plus using Home Brew...

    Help!! Please!!!!

I would fix it. The idea that you have an opening where something might get in and infect the beer would make me want to fix it. This is probably not going to happen, but I would not take the risk. Look at it as extra airation, just sanitize the kettle well first. That is just my opinion.

    Straining into Bottling Bucket?

The hop spider is what significantly helped with hop debris in my finished beer, so I highly recommend getting one. They are very inexpensive to make and worth the pennies it takes to make it.

    What to Brew Now?

Have you tried BierMunchers Centennial Blonde Ale? That is a great, easy beer that appeals to most any beer drinker. I think it is the number 1 recipe on HBT. I have that in bottles right now.
