    Blonde Ale Amarillo Blonde

Almost forgot to update here; Andy-this recipe is killer, and came out amazing! I hope i didnt deviate too far from the original intent with my slight changes (MO in the grain bill, and some Magnum for bittering) My first time using Amarillo, and it really comes through. I dry hopped with 1oz...

is 3.3 Cu Ft too small?

Thanks max; thats what i wanted to hear! Arg-agreed, maybe should have gone full keezer. This was a compromise with the wife in case i bomb completely - minimal loss. Big kitchen remodel in a few years, and she's agreed on an "official" built-in kegerator. So this hack job will have to do...

is 3.3 Cu Ft too small?

Thanks guys. This was more of an "im doing this, tell me its physically possible" thread. Ive already started hacking the crap out of it; (to fit one corny and a CO2tank) Worst case, im out $50. Best case-springtime homebrew from my tiny kegerator. Cheers!!

is 3.3 Cu Ft too small?

as usual, in my life - - i've got size issues! i got excited and bought a mini-fridge on Craigslist that looks just like this one (i think i may even be this one) it was only $50, so i jumped on it - barely used and figured i'be all set to start my kegerator conversion. obviously...

My Ugly Junk- Corona Mill Station...

Note: after launching my own thread - i was wisely advised to re-post this here. probably the natural home for this creation/monstrosity. i'm way more into functional junk, than pretty junk. i've just started a mini-fridge kegerator build; will keep you posted. promises to be just as...

Fugly But Functional - Corona Mill Station

thanks all! yes - that thread (amongst others) is where I've taken my inspiration from; this is why homebrew rocks so much. my equipment looks like it came out of a trash can, but i'm still making some killer brew! (btw - you've got to see my converted cooler mash-tun...

Fugly But Functional - Corona Mill Station

Hey All - figured I'd post this up for those of us who are not in the least DIY-Savvy, but still like to give it a shot! Been wanting to mill my own for awhile, picked up a $25 corona mill and a homer bucket and here you go. (pics at bottom) Step1: massacre a homer bucket. notch...

    Blonde Ale Amarillo Blonde

I'm planning on brewing this in mid May (with some slight changes below); I like your simple grain bill - but was also looking for that little bit of malt flavor. just happens that i bought a sack of Marris Otter. check this out - let me know if i've strayed too far from your path; or in...

    Pittsburgh/Western PA Group Buy #5

also paid via paypal. dumb question - Brewguyver, but any shot you can take a rough guess ETA at delivery? only curious because i'll be coming in from Buffalo, NY and have to make some plans for pickup (and I may be going out of town for work in the next 2-3 weeks). either way -...

    APA w/ Amarillo (thoughts please!)

I'm getting OG = 1.053 FG = 1.012 Yooper - - thanks for the input; this is my first time using Amarillo, but from what i hear (and have tasted in microbrews) - is a winner; i may do just what you suggest. I find that Magnum is a nice bittering hop - so the .5oz should get the job done.

    APA w/ Amarillo (thoughts please!)

Hey All, Let me know your take on this recipe I've concocted. I've got some Amarillo Hops that I want to feature in a Pale Ale (hoping to keep it under IPA territory). Anything you'd add/remove - change hopping schedule? Overall - looking for an easy-drinking Pale Ale, with nice hop...

Who's snowed in and brewing this weekend?

Awesome pic; now im inspired! Almost done boiling my Irish Red here in Buffalo. Note the pathway only big enough to get into my garage/brewery. Cheers!

Who's snowed in and brewing this weekend?

Brewing a Midwest kit. Irish Red on Sunday. Figure if i ferment for 2weeks and bottle condition for 4-- ready on St Patties day. Pretty stoked. (About the beer; not the snow)

    Blood Orange Coriander APA

I brewed something almost exact to this a month ago. Only orange peel i used was 1.25 oz of zest (with my microplane grater). WAY too much orange/bitter flavor. Not sure if i got too much pith; but i would halve that for future 5gal batches. From what i hear, the bitter/orange should fade over...

    Good Red Pale Ale Recipes?

Awesome, thanks for the help. In the meantime i had apparently too much free time and crafted this recipe for myself (trying to use some spare malts) Generally im the only one drinking my homebrew, but still hoping it works out. Here goes: 5lbs 2 row pale 3lbs Maris Otter 4OZ each : roasted...

    Good Red Pale Ale Recipes?

hey all - - just planning ahead (thinking St Patties day) - and i'd like to do an Irish Red, but also thinking Pale Ale. so - why not a Red Pale Ale?! any thoughts - or recipes you could point me to? I'm doing all-grain, 5 gal batches if that helps; also - here is some of what i've...

    Wheat beer, general thoughts?

I'm brewing an Orange Wheat /w coriander next weekend. Something I cobbled together after reading some "blue moon clone" threads. Also using US-05, just to keep the neutral profile and not get too Belgian-y. Nothing like a light, crisp orange wheat in the dead of winter! --beermethatbeer

Citrus Wheat - recipe (please review)

awesome input all! just the kind of help i was looking for; some tweaks i plan on making after taking this all into account; *less 2 row, more wheat malt *less carapils, adding victory malt *no lemon; just fresh orange zest - and cutting back the coriander a bit *might go with saaz all the...

Citrus Wheat - recipe (please review)

hey mttfrog13 - thanks for the input; i kind of merged together several other posters "citrus beer recipes" - - so this ended up with lemon zest; but i agree - - could probably do without it. i like adding victory or biscuit malt; do you think 1lb of either would be too much? (only...

Citrus Wheat - recipe (please review)

hey Gitmoe; good call. this is one of those weirdo brews where im not really trying to fit a certain style; not technically a Wit, American Wheat Beer, Citrus/Fruit beer. i think i was looking for a clean Ale taste, with little input from the yeast, and more from the...
