    So who's brewing this weekend?

I'm looking forward to it. I have learned so much from reading the forums, asking questions, and doing my first two brews. But the little knowledge I've gained is just a drop in the carboy. There's so much more to learn, and I'm looking forward to picking the brains of experienced HB'ers.

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Brewing a Cream Ale tomorrow. This will be my 3rd brew. I'm excited because I just finished my fermentation chamber today.

Finally, Fermentation chamber build. Almost completed

Thank you. Wish I could take credit for the ideas, but I can't. I've borrowed ideas from several people. It can hold 3 carboys or buckets. That's two awesome weekends of brewing, starting tomorrow.

Finally, Fermentation chamber build. Almost completed

It's not as pretty as some of you very skilled wood craftsmen, but it's functional and holds temps quite well. I just have to finish sealing the inside with aluminum tape. It's been caulked already. I'm excited to brew a Cream Ale tomorrow, which will be the first brew that get to sit in the...

    Please confirm my theory

Thanks for the feedback. It smells and tastes really good. I couldn't taste any hints of off flavors.

    Please confirm my theory

Ok, On 9/15, I posted this first pic asking if this is an infection. Tonight, I bottled this Robust Porter. This is how it looks now, 2nd pic (the white in the bottom right corner is the ceiling light reflecting). My theory is that the white stuff in the first pic is co2 bubbles, and since i...

    Is this an infection?

Thanks for all the responses. It's been closed tight for the last 22 days. I opened it to take a sg reading, and saw the floaties. I'm very meticulous about sanitation, which is one of the reasons I'm unsure if this is an infection (the other is because I'm new at H.B.). I'll taste it tonight...

What I did for beer today

    Fridge conversion.

    Is this an infection?

This is my second brew. So i'm unsure if this is normal or a infection. It's a Robust Porter. Brewed on 8/24/14. I didn't secondary. Temps have been between 66-68 degrees.

    1st brew finally bottled

Unfortunately, I don't have a supply of HB boxes yet. So I took advantage of my nephews pamper boxes for the last 23 bottles. Had to use 2, they only hold 12 bottles.

    1st brew finally bottled

I finally reached bottling day :ban: I brewed a India Black Ale on 8/16/14. Dry hopped on 8/29/14. Wanted to dry hop for 7 days, but "Life" got in the way. So it dry hopped for 9 days. Transferred to bottling bucket (after sanitizing everything with star san), mixed and added priming sugar...

    Fermentation Chamber

Just checked my fridge. Coils are on the sides too. So to ensure the sides get enough airflow, I'm going to borrow this vent idea as seen in the pic. No, this is not mine. I wish though, lol. Do you think if i install vents on the sides and the back, it'll get enough airflow? Thoughts and ideas...

    Fermentation Chamber

Ok, thanks. Good to know. It appears that the entire fridge is enclosed. My fridge is made the same way, all coils in the back.

Pic of the 1st bottle of your 1st beer

Glad you wrote this thread. I'm a new HB. I'll bottle my 1st beer (a India Black Ale) next this Saturday. I'll make sure to take pics of all the 1st (i've already started with the brewing pics), and come back to post.

    Fermentation Chamber

Beautiful craftmanship GPSaxophone. I bought the materials to build one myself today. Based on your design and several others. In one thread, someone mentioned not to enclose the fridge because the sides get very hot. Are you having any heat issues with yours being enclosed? I like the fact...

    1st brew excitement

Congrats on your batch. Yes, it is very difficult not to open the lid. I admit, I did look at the airlock 20 times a day, lol. I'm having more patience with my 2nd batch.
