    So who's brewing this weekend?

I’ve enjoyed brewing single hop pales as well. Great way to get to know a hop. I’ve always liked mosaic, didn’t realize it had a bad rap!

I dumped it. I guess I’m wondering if it’s any worse than eating moldy bread? I’ve got a few kegs that taste just fine but likely had moldy grain in it.

I’ve been noticing clumps like this in my brewers malt. I’m sure I’ve brewed and drank several batches having not paid much attention to the clumps. Beer has been good. I have 100 lbs left. Any thoughts?

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Brewing my annual Birthday Brown tomorrow. It’s a huge beer that will sit for 12 months to be enjoyed next year. Last years batch sat on apple brandy soaked medium toast oak cubes and turned out pretty nice. Not sure what this one will sit on yet. 🤔

    So who's brewing this weekend?

20 minutes into an extended boil after a length but enjoyable decoction mash. This is a long brewday! Adding cocoa powder to the boil and dry hop with nibs for a hopefully nice chocolate Doppelbock.

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Not the weekend but my 3 year old is on quarantine as a close contact for about the 6th time this year. I’ve missed more work this year than my entire working life before that. I could sit and stew or sit and brew. So, Doppelbock grain crushed and ready to get after it tomorrow! Brew on!

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Not enough time to brew the Doppelbock this weekend so decided on a quick and simple cream ale.

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Update - moving this off of yeast today to sit until kegged in September. Gravity sample was 1.022 so about 12% abv. At this point the roasted malts really dominate but there is definitely some complexity and layers coming through. A little hot but it should mellow over time. Will post back in...
