    Using rice in home brewing

Why would you want to do that?

    50 Best Beers

Dogfish Head for the win. They've quickly worked their way to the top of my brewery list so I'm glad to see them all over that chart. I had Pliny the Elder last week on tap but really couldn't get all worked up about it. It was good, but not much different than many other hop bomb beers...

Gravity samples and dry fermenting-contamination concerns?

What are you all doing to take gra city samples? Just pouring it out the spout, measuring then dumping or do you return it? Also, for gry hopping do you just crack the lid and dump it in? I'm just wondering how concerned I need to be about contaminating the wort by opening the lid...

    New Beer Website

It would also be nice if we could view posts by tags so we could see all beer of one type or state if we like. Keep up the work, that site has been no small amount of work! It might also help to add 'guest contributors' if you can find a way. Maybe solicit your visitors for reviews a bit...

    New Beer Website

I use the same post previewer on my site, its great but I'd slow it down just a bit, the previews are going by pretty quick and it's hard to keep up.

American Pale Ale Kona, Fire Rock Pale Ale (AG Clone)

I've had this brew and it was outstanding, one of my most recent favorites. ---- Enter the rookie, with a rook dog question: This seems logical but just to check, can I just divide everything in the extract recipe in half to make a 5 gallon batch?

Black IPA: Lots of Trub at Bottling

Any idea how it turned out yet? I'd like to try a black IPA soon.

    Bayou Classic SQ14 lift kit

Is there a factory option that is taller? I'm looking for a burner but would just prefer to buy a tall one as I don't have access to a welder...

    Sorry but ...

Camels don't drink much water. I'd suspect it'd be much darker that Bud/Miller.

Adding LME at different times during the boil

Unless I'm missing something why do nearly all recipes call for 60 minutes and not more or less?

Adding LME at different times during the boil

Then what is the reasoning for a 60 minute boil? Is it just hop flavoring?

    Sleeping Giant Label

Very cool, but it should be noted that whales actually sleep on the surface just bobbing along, they sort of bounce slowly on the surface timing their breathing just right. Its called 'logging.' Anyway, don't let it stop you though, I'd imagine a logging whale would just look dead on your...

    "Devasting" Sunday afternoon

Wow, scary stuff, though it sounds like not all dogs would be susceptible, I'd hate to find out. http://www.bme.ogi.edu/~ericwan/DOG/hops.html :off: Lots of chew toys! Peanut butter in kongs also keeps them busy for an hour or two but their (bully breeds in particular) jaw needs constant...

Did you like IPA's before home brewing?

x2. I'm less inclined for the hop bombs but it is hard to beat a well balanced IPA that finishes sweet and malty.
